The composition is pleasing with the fishing boat coming in at an angle and the bridge in the background nicely framing the boat. The boat between the fishing boat and bridge is a little distracting. I'm puzzled by the sun's reflection in the water coming off the side of the boat because the sun appears to be behind the boat in the upper left. |

Thank you for stopping by our group and taking the time to make comments. I've learned to appreciate abstract photography through making smoke images. But I can take 500 pictures during one smoke session, and I would be lucky if I can get 2 or 3 somewhat decent images. Sometimes it takes a while culling through the images and looking at them from different angles to see a composition. |

Thank you, Robert. I recently learned that smoke photography is a form of aleatoric art; meaning it relies on elements of randomness or chance. And, it can't be duplicated. |

Yes, this stork is almost as handsome as a turkey vulture. I like your composition and fine details in the bird. I also like how the bird has its mouth open. Although you darkened the background, it is still a little distracting. You might try darkening the brighter leaves a little more or making a selection of the background and blurring all the leaves; or both. |

Good details and excellent composition! I like the strong details in the bricks especially the ones in the stairs. The black metal gate and white building trim nicely frame the entryway. You made the right decision to crop off the upper windows and clone out the red sign. A very pleasing image! |

You captured this old street exquisitely with good detail front to back. The lighting is a little peculiar though especially when you state the photo was taken at night. I see no signs of gas or incandescent lamps or street lights. Was it lit up from above with modern flood lights? It would have been nice to have a person dressed in period garb walking in the street; not a tourist though. |

Thank you, Maria. This year we had so much snow and cold weather. I enjoyed shooting plants in snow, but I'm ready for spring! |

Thanks, Mark. The closest flowers at the top were a bit out of focus. I thought I started my focus bracketing at the closest point. Maybe they moved. |

Thanks, Denise. I'm still looking for a plant in the snow with a little more character. :-) |

Thanks, Dick. I had other dormant-plant-in-snow shots from this winter's cold season. This one was a little too blue compared to the others, so I did remove some blue cast to match the other images. As a stand-alone image, the stronger blue cast would work. |

Thank you, Barbara. Yes, I didn't realize how much of a blue cast there was before I sent it in. I have since removed it although I did leave a small amount of blue to give the image a cold feel. And, the blue also complemented the orange mum. |

I'm always fascinated seeing how photographers capture flowers beyond its peak stage. For this flower, I like the drab color of the wilted rose and the sharpness of the wrinkled petals in the front of the flower. But the lower right petal further back is a bit out of focus making it rather distracting. Maybe if you cropped away most of the image leaving only the center portion, it might make a more compelling image. |

You captured this lily beautifully with a light box and light panel. In some ways, I prefer the color image if you crop it as you did in the B&W image. The B&W image seems a bit dull and needs a white point. The key parts of the lily are in sharp focus. |

You captured this group of lichens in exquisite detail from front to back. My only suggestion might be to add a vignette to focus attention on the white and yellow lichens in the center. I hope you don't mind my playing with your image. |

This is a well-exposed and well-composed image. Finding snow on flowers is always a treat worth photographing. You captured all the important details of the flower and snow without blowing out the highlights in the snow. A very pleasing image. |

I like this simple composition. In some ways, it seems to be telling a story of the two large leaves interacting with each other and the little, baby leaf looking up at its mother vying for attention. |
