Thanks, Charlie. I find it fun to shoot smoke images every once in a while. |

Thank you, Cindy. When I said, "I shoot a bunch of smoke images," I meant I take hundreds of shots of smoke; but only a handful are worthy of post processing. I'm lucky if I get one decent, final image from hundreds of shots. It's all trial and error. |

Thank you, Robert. Funny, I don't see an eye and snout. I won't explain the title just yet. I would like to know what others see in this abstract image. |

This is quite a unique image of an ancient town nestled against a forest. There are so many interesting old buildings with unusual roofs in this picture that I wish you had zoomed in on only a few of them to see the details. |

I like the vibrant colors of the flowers, and the bee was an added bonus. I also like how you darkened the green foliage in the background. However, I actually like your original image better because it is softer and more natural. The final image seems to have a bit too much clarity added, and the bee gets lost in the flower. |

I like how you captured the Shard and its surrounding modern buildings. Smoothing out the water creates a nice foreground for the buildings. The smoothness of the water together with the slightly blurred clouds above, sandwiches the modern architecture in between. |

What a great capture of the Jefferson Memorial with the Capitol building in the background. I like how the Tidal Basin frames the memorial in the foreground. Very nicely composed. |

This image is quite creative! Normally, I'm not a fan of hummingbird images with a feeder included, but, in this case, the feeder serves as a unique frame for the bird in flight. You caught the bird in the perfect spot. Excellent! |

Thank you, Amy. Yes, it definitely needs more detail at the base of the flower. But, I tried to get as much of the flowers in focus as possible. |

Thank you, Diana! It's always worth going out, even in the snow. You never know what you might find. |

Fully agree with your comments. At least I learned that there are subjects to shoot in the snow. |

Hello Amy, and welcome to the group! You have produced a lovely abstract image of a calla lily. I like the vibrant red, yellow and green colors and how they blend into each other. To me, the strength of this image are the colors and curves. We all see abstract images differently, so if you don't mind, I'll give you my interpretation. I would crop and rotate the image to reduce the amount of black, and hone in on the curves and colors. There is no right or wrong. Here is my version. |

Good morning, Diana. You produced a simple, yet naturally lovely image of a gerbera daisy that jumps out from the dark green blurred background. I'm still debating whether I like the blurred daisy in the background or not. I'm leaning towards cloning it out or blurring it more because it does tend to cause some distraction. |

A simple and pleasant image of a yellow rose. I like how you cropped in very close to see only the yellow petals with no distractions. The rain droplets add a lot to the overall image as well. Nicely done! |

I love it! I find shooting flora in the winter after it snows is fun and a completely different experience than shooting flora in other seasons. It is more of a minimalist experience. You isolated the frozen dandelion beautifully, and I like your decision to crop the image to a 1:1 square ratio. |

Thank you, Barbara. You're right about the narrow focus. This is a tiny flower. So even though I used an aperture of f/13, it didn't capture the entire flower. I wish I had brought a tripod. I would have focus-stacked this image. |

The vibrant flower was well captured with all its petals and stem in sharp focus. The background also seems in focus especially on the right side to the point where the sharpness is a little distracting. I would suggest blurring the background a tad. |

This is such an unusual flower. I like how you captured it with the vibrant purple flower strongly contrasting with the muted green leaves. It looks like you were "shooting through" some leaves right up against your lens. It creates a nice ethereal effect. |
