45 Nov 24 Reply Yes, burst mode is great when you need it! Nov 10th
45 Nov 24 Comment I like the juxtaposition of the modern, highly-lit skyscrapers with old boats below as well as the surrounding buildings with various architecture. It's quite a mix! My suggestion would be to de-haze the image as the towers have a slight misty cast about them. Nov 4th
45 Nov 24 Comment Making the seat the main focus of this image, I cropped the image to concentrate on the dilapidated seat and eliminate the surrounding distractions. I also added a vignette. It definitely redefines the beauty found in wabi-sabi. Nov 4th
45 Nov 24 Comment The lighting and colors are beautiful. I might suggest cropping a little off the left side. When I first looked at this picture, I thought the lady had fangs. So, you might want to clone out that white spot on her lower lip. Nov 4th
45 Nov 24 Comment I, too, like the simplicity and B&W conversion of this image. I also like Cindy's cropped version. I would imagine this scene was deliberately posed. Nov 4th
45 Nov 24 Reply Thank you, Cindy. For this shot, I used a burst mode (~10 shots/sec). It's the first time I tried it with a street shot. I think it works! Nov 3rd
45 Nov 24 Reply Thank you, Robert. This was one of those times where I first saw two children playing under the tree. Unfortunately, they left before I could get my camera out of my bag. So, I planted myself there for a while waiting for an interesting person to walk by. Nov 3rd
45 Nov 24 Comment You really brought out the potential of this image by equalizing the tonal qualities. The browns and greens are all of a consistent brightness and complement each other well, thus, creating a warm and comforting scene. There is so much to look at that I didn't initially notice the tree growing out of the roof! I was also intrigued by the two trees leaning against the building on the right side, not to mention the building is a log cabin. I guess that is why the building is called a "tree house." Nov 3rd
45 Nov 24 Comment This is a wonderful image with the mix of unusual architecture. I like the juxtaposition of the Big Easy's rounded shape with the straight lines and square shapes of the surrounding buildings. It looks like an open mouth of a huge shark. A nicely seen composition! Nov 3rd

65 Nov 24 Reply Thank you, Barbara. Focus bracketing was a little difficult because the flower was quite tall (~5 ft). I had to wait until there was no wind during the bracketed shots. Nov 7th
65 Nov 24 Reply Thank you, Dick. I didn't know wild carrots are biennials. Nov 7th
65 Nov 24 Comment I like the strong composition with three vibrant flowers in a diagonal. The background spines provide a reference that these flowers are on a cactus. If this were my image, I would brighten the spines in the lower right area. Nov 4th
65 Nov 24 Comment It might be a sad looking rose, but it certainly has a lot of character. I like the detail in the withered rose petals and shriveled leaves brought out by a point-source, side light. The background color works well with the drooping flower. The image might not appeal to many folks, but I can appreciate the effort you put in setting this shot up. Nov 4th
65 Nov 24 Comment What a outstanding and well-composed image! It looks like a painting, and I mean that in the best way. The zig-zag pattern of the red flowers grab your attention, especially in a two-dimensional image. Just beautiful! I'll be at Longwood Gardens next week, and I just might have to find this scene myself! Nov 3rd
