I'm certainly not a bird photographer, but I do enjoy trying to capture birds either in-flight or in a static position. I found a static bird can be interesting if it is doing something (e.g., eating a worm, cleaning its feathers, etc.). A static view of a bird doing nothing is not very interesting; hence, why do it unless it is solely for a record shot. |

Thank you, Cindy. I did crop down much of the background shore and darkened what was left. But, I see your point. It is still somewhat distracting. |

I guess I'm outvoted. This image was shot in continuous burst mode with a series of 30 images; some immediately before the bird's head entered the water, and some right after. I liked this image because it had the most action with the splashing water and ruffled feathers. The other images showing the bird's head/eyes looked too static. |

You captured a lovely sunrise with a well-composed image. I like how the interesting cross-hatch pattern of the pier fills in the plain sky; and, how the sun is right in the middle of a trapezoidal space with its reflection below. The offset sun and horizon line keeps the composition keeps the composition dynamic. |

The low morning (or evening) light in this image really makes the scene come alive and adds to the character of the dilapidated barn and small shed. You were also fortunate to have such a beautiful sky. I don't mind the shadow in the foreground as it frames the barn and makes you wonder what is casting such a long shadow...a silo? A very nice image! |

I admire your ability to take photographs in such a hostile environment. You were fortunate to capture the scene during sunset when the light was warm and subdued. It gives the scene a lonely, isolated mood. My eyes travel between the tower and the cannon with the nice sunset in between. Nicely captured! |

I like the rich blues and greens in this image. And, the image appears to be sharp from the foreground to the background. The bluebells in the foreground lead your eye to the back of the image. It might help to crop out the bright gray sky at the very top of the image as it doesn't really add anything...perhaps just above the flower-horizon line keeping in some of the forest in the background. |

This is an interesting scene that tells a story of an concert about to begin. The red harpsichord and chair just grab your attention. The warmly lit room nicely complements the cool tones of the audiences' heads. My suggestion would be to straighten the image as it is leaning down on the left side. |

Your image is nicely captured and well composed. I like how the warmly-lit structures contrast against the surrounding cool blue tones. However, I'm not a big fan of Nik's Poloroid filter. I would have preferred a more natural look. But, still a very pleasing image! |
