Yes, Charlie, that is what I tried to do in my revised image (in response to Phyllis's comment). I warmed the highlights and cooled down the shadows. I need to experiment some more with the image's color toning...maybe stronger warm tones. |

Thank you for your input, Cindy. I'm liking the first one better than my edited version, too.

To me, this image is not about the shadows, but rather about the chairs facing the serene scene. If this were my image, I would crop out the metal chairs and tables on the right and make this image a square (1:1) format. |

I think you found your calling as a bird photographer. Another great shot! The interaction between the two blue herons and their wing positions really make this image. I can't think of any suggestions on how to improve it. Question: Did you use a burst mode when shooting this image or a single-shot mode? |

Based on your suggestion, I took another stab at color toning the image by warming the highlights and cooling the shadows in Lightroom. I think I like this version better. I'll have to look at it again later after my eyes have a chance to adjust. |

Such a lovely old-time scene! The yellow and green colors are consistent throughout the image. The image is well composed. If I were to make any suggestions, it would be to crop off a little on the left to make the margin equal to the other three sides. I would have preferred the image to be a square (1:1), but that would cut the image too close to the subjects. The other option would be to use the content-aware crop in Photoshop to extend the image on three sides to make a square image with more room on the sides. Something like this. |

This is such a moody image. The silhouetted water tower and signal tells the whole story of what one is seeing. I like how the water tower, fence and small building form a triangle with the setting sun in the middle. Nicely captured! |

First, I commend you for getting up so early to get this shot with such beautiful lighting and a nice wisp of clouds to add some pink to the sky! Those islands of rocks jutting into the middle of the lake create so much interest. I like how you shot them at an angle which makes the static landscape more dynamic. Well done! |

A beautifully composed night scene! I like the panoramic view. I'm guessing it was shot with a super wide angle lens and cropped, as I can't imagine how you would have made this image using a panning motion. Very nice details especially the star-burst effect on the street lights. Well done! |

Thank you, Phyllis. I was going back and forth about the color balance. I'll have to look at the warmer version again. Thanks for the input. |

Another great landscape image! Although I like your color image, the B&W has so much going for it. I took the liberty to make some adjustments to your B&W image by darkening the borders, brightening the white tree in the middle and adding haze the furthest background area. My adjustments were intended to focus one's attention on the silky waterfall and lead one's eye gently through the flow of water. |
