Thank you, Bai. You're right. The lights are essential to make the black airplane stand out from the black/dark grey background. Shooting this was like shooting a black cat in a coal mine. |

Thank you, Cindy. At first, I wasn't sure how a black airplane in a dark environment would work as a low key image. We have a competition coming up with a theme of "High Key/Low Key." |

Thank you, Phyllis. It's too bad they don't allow tripods in the museum. It's quite dark inside. |

I love milkweed images...even more than dandelions. I wasn't aware of the many varieties of milkweed and haven't noticed this green milkweed variety before. I wouldn't change the cropping at all, but I might suggest adding a vignette to accentuate the center portion. |

What a beautiful shot! Perfect lighting, gorgeous sky, and great composition. The post processing is very natural and realistic. There is interest in the foreground (green foliage),middle (canyons) and background (sky). I only wish the top of the clouds wasn't cut off. It can be fixed in Photoshop with a little work using the content-aware crop though. |

A nice serene image of a covered bridge with lots of texture in the surrounding foliage. The red color of the bridge draws one's attention to it, and the fence, path and bench all lead one's eye to the bridge. I like the contrasting dullness of the foliage with the bright bridge. In fact, I might suggest darkening and/or de-saturating the bright yellow leaves a little so that they don't call too much attention to them. I also played around with the image in Lightroom using the radial gradient tool in the masking option to darken everything except the bridge. |

One day I would like to visit Scotland to see real castles and remnants from the medieval days although this castle seems to be more "modern." The two-toned lighting adds a bit of interest, and the long exposure brought out some detail in the night sky. The trees below nicely frame the castle against the dark sky. My only suggestion would be to eliminate the bluish flare in the lower right. |

This is a sharp image of a dog. It would have been better to have the entire dog in the frame. And, the partial foot in the upper left needs to be cloned out. |

What a great fireworks shot. Very well composed and exposed. I like the symmetry of the exploding fireworks. My only suggestion would be to crop the sides a little more. The bright street lights are not necessary and pulls one's attention from the fireworks. Another option would be to darken the lights. |

Thank you, Robert. And, intriguingly, almost all of the post processing was done on everything except the main subject. |
