You have a winning landscape image here! Great colors, excellent composition and good sharpness throughout. I wouldn't recommend cropping out the sky because you would lose the beautiful orange sunrise. But, darkening the sky would add drama to the image. You might try using Lightroom's graduated filter to decrease the exposure and highlights in the sky. And, add a little saturation in the sky, too. Here's my attempt at modifying the sky. And, thanks for the info about a fen. I hadn't heard that term before. |

It's a little better, but there is still too much gray in my opinion. I took a stab at correcting it in LR. Using the adjustment brush, I selected the grayish areas and increased the exposure and whites slightly. I then decreased the temperature making the selected area more bluish to match the feathers. Lastly, I adjusted the hue and saturation of the selected areas to match the rest of the feathers. |

Wow! What a lovely image of an exquisite bird! I like the way you brightened the bird's head/eyes and darkened and de-saturated the background leaving a subtle glow around the black head and beak. It really makes the bird's features stand out. The colors and textures are fantastic. My only comment is that the grayish outlines on the bird's neck and body are somewhat unrealistic. I would have preferred it if you made it less noticeable on the bird's upper body and right-side of the neck. The grayish outline on the left-side of the neck looks natural as that is the shadow-side relative to the light source. |

An interesting idea to take flower images at a garden center and using a black, poster board background, too. That takes some chutzpah! You got a nice image though. Without the background story, I would have thought it was taken in a home studio. The flower is well composed and nicely focused. You nicely toned down the bright yellow parts and saturated it properly to bring out the red tones. If I were to make any suggestions, it might be to lighten the petals in the rear just a little and possibly darken the lower-right red portion to keeps one attention on the yellow stamen. |

A well-exposed image of an unusual building structure. The facade looks strange; almost as if the facade is much larger than the actual building (e.g., like those fireworks stores off the highway). The store-front has a lot to look at - maybe too much. I'm not sure what the subject is other than the building structure itself. |

This image has a good story-telling aspect in it with a photographer taking a picture of tourists enjoying the sights from a wupeng boat. The man in the center, however, seems to grab my attention and takes away from the story. It might help to clone him out to keep the viewer focused on the interaction between the photographer and tourists. |
