Hi, Jose! Visiting from Group 45. A beautiful and unique image! I like the boat just where it is - with the rainbow pointing right at it. It definitely should have taken first place this month at NBCC. :-) |

Thank you, Phyllis. It took a lot of trial and error...and pure luck, too. |

A very pleasing image indeed! Good capture without blowing out the whites, and sharp, too. From a compositional standpoint, I think the image would be stronger as a vertical (portrait) by cropping some of the water on both sides. |

A very nice capture of purple flowers. I agree the image seems a bit blurry, perhaps due to camera movement or even the flower itself. I also find the highlights in the background to be a bit distracting. Fortunately, they can easily be toned down. I took the liberty to copy the image and reduce the brightness in Nik (Vivesa) and in Lightroom using the brush tool. I think the flowers stand out much better with a darkened background. |

I didn't know what caused the colorful patterns in the bubbles, so I just googled it. Apparently, the rainbow colors are caused from interference of light reflecting off the front and back surfaces of the thin soap film. |

Thank you, Cindy. I wish I could say I planned out everything carefully, but the truth is that some things were purely serendipitous. I needed a shallow container with a black lining to hold the soap mixture, so I used the top of a Japanese lacquer soup bowl. My wife commented that the red rim clashed with the magenta in the bubbles, so I fixed it in Photoshop. I later saw the subtle outline of the bottom of the bowl and enhanced it to bring it out. |

Thanks, Don. Oil and water "bubbles" are fun, too. I always put a light source under the solution so that I can use a smaller aperture and get more depth of field. Have fun! |

Whoa! What a spectacular and beautifully composed portrait! I spent quite a bit of time examining all the fine details in the face and fur. Everything is perfectly sharp! And, the eyes are amazing! The background is nice and simple. It's hard to believe you shot this through glass. Exquisite! Can't suggest anything to improve it. |

A very interesting B&W infra-red image. The clouds are amazing, and I like how the trees look like they're covered in snow. I only wish the background grasses (?) were darker so as not to blend in with trees. |

A very nice nighttime image...again! And, beautifully post-processed. The reflection definitely makes the image. I'll have to check out LunaPic. Well done! |

This is a great photo! The storks do look like soldiers at attention, and the image has a unique and eerie feeling about it. Your darkening and converting to B&W just made the image come to life. Even the plain gray sky adds to the mood. If I were to suggest any changes, it would be to clone out the storks lying down. They seem to distract from the standing birds. I took the liberty to use Photoshop to clone in the surrounding branches at about 50% opacity. The title should definitely be, "Soldiers." |
