The flash tube was connected to the flash in the Original 2 image. But, because the flash is so bright, everything else looks black. The blue color is a result of my not changing the white balance when I shot the flash tube (not flashing) using tungsten light white balance. I also like the blue light as it complements the yellowish colors of the base and filaments. I wouldn't call myself, "patient" - more desperately bored while in lockdown. |

Hi, Charlie, thanks for your comments. I've always wanted to shoot a lighted vacuum tube, but could never figure out how to do it. The bare bulb flash is a Godox AD200 Pro...a great flash available from just about anywhere. I didn't use focus stacking when firing the bulb, but I did use a 10-stop ND filter and shot about 5 images at different manual flash settings (e.g., 1/128 power, 1/64, 1/32, etc.). I can't remember which power I used for the final image. What you see is the original flash color. |

I love this grunge image of an old car. I don't recognize the model...a little before my time. Great textures! You did an excellent job of cropping out the distracting background and sky. Cloning out the piece of metal was a good choice. If I could offer any suggestions, I would fix the grasses in the cloned-out areas to eliminate the repeating patterns. Otherwise, an excellent image! |

I like the atmosphere of this image...sunset or sunrise with the sun hitting the sides of the cypress trees. I think the image could be improved by bringing out some of the details in the trees. Cypress trees are so photogenic. I would also suggest cloning out the small portion of the tree on the far left. Nice composition! |

A very nice capture of an exotic butterfly. I wish I knew what species it was. Very nice distinctive features that you captured well with a side view. Everything looks in focus. I really like how you removed the bright spots in the background. Maybe, removing that brown leaf-tip in the foreground would help, too? Great image! |

Great bird shot! I'm not a bird photographer either, so I don't know the species for sure. But, looking at images on-line, it sure looks like a house finch. Very nice job with cloning out the stray branches and adding a subtle sky, too.

A beautiful landscape image with everything sharp from foreground to background. I like the three layers of colors with the beige rocks in the foreground followed by the green trees in the mid-ground, and the blue mountains and sky in the background. Nice clouds, too! I only wish that black shadow spot on the left weren't so predominant. Maybe lightening it, or cloning it out might work. Or, possibly cropping the lower portion including the black spot to make it a panoramic scene might help. But, I do like the details in the foreground rocks that would be lost if the image is cropped. |

I love the textures in this image, and the puddle of water in the foreground adds interest and breaks up all the surrounding texture. Because there is only one color, I was wondering if this image would be better in black and white? |
