Thank you, Wanda. The camera was hand held (no tripod with me). The fence and web were perfectly vertical. So, to keep the web in the darker part of the background, I had to find a web in the lower part of the fence keeping the sensor parallel to the fence and web. |

Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I was fortunate to have my camera with me on this very foggy morning. |

A few years ago, I took a similar picture of a spider web in a chain link fence during a fog. And, as you mentioned, I focused much closer, thus, eliminating the surrounding chain link fence. I didn't like the shot as much. I found the surrounding chain links adds an unusual design to the overall image. |

A lovely woodpecker shot. The eyes are sharp, and your cropping adds just enough space in front of where the bird is gazing. Nice clean, blurred background, too. I like how the white part of the background outlines the bird's beak. If I were to suggest any changes, I might try removing some of the cold, blue cast of the bird and tree bark. I would try warming up the overall image rather than de-saturating just the blue feathers and tree bark. |

Thank you, Jack. The web wasn't dead center though. It was positioned a little below the vertical centerline. |

Beautiful fall colors reflected in the lake! Nicely captured as an abstract image with good composition and balance. |

I agree with Don and enjoy seeing your nighttime images. I like the small-town feel of this New Zealand lakefront town with the ferry coming into dock. However, I find the reddish color a little odd although it's probably caused by the lights. I took the liberty to try to correct the color cast by making the reddish color more yellowish. I was aiming for a yellow-and-blue complementary-color contrast, but not very successful. |

The Crazy Horse Monument is quite a sight. My wife and I visited it about 4 years ago and were impressed by the sheer size of it all. You captured the construction work nicely, but if one is not familiar with the monument, it's hard to tell that the white chalk markings is supposed to be the horse's head. The image was well processed though. |

A very nice clean and simple silhouette, Don! The sharp silhouette images contrast nicely with the beautiful clouds. And, I like the way the clouds go all the way to the bottom of the image with no distractions in the background. The silhouetted grasses on the left add some interest as well. |

Thank you, Isaac, for stopping by and and taking the time for making comments. I was also lucky to find such a nicely shaped web at the right height, so that it would stand out in the darker background grass while keeping the sensor plane relatively parallel to the web. |

Wow! What a great fall image. The yellow aspen trees and the morning sunlight hitting the top of the mountain in the background would have made an excellent image alone, but the additional reflection just makes it exceptional. Nice clouds, too! |

I like your B&W conversion. It especially brings out the contrast in the background ripples. And, you captured the curves of the dunes beautifully. |
