45 Jul 20 Comment This is a very unusual image. When I first looked at it, I thought it was flower stamen in a bowl. I assume you deliberately didn't soften the edge of the elliptical tool to get this effect. I only wish the bee in the lower left were a little sharper. Jul 15th
45 Jul 20 Reply What I learned in taking this photo is the importance of having almost no wind. With any wind, the moving leaf would ruin the shot. However, the dragonfly will twitch quite often or fly away, so I found it's useful to take as many shots while you can and keep refocusing. I've had Gigapixel for a couple years, but haven't used it much. It seems Topaz Labs improved the artificial intelligence of Gigapixel in the last few months to a point where now it's getting much better results (i.e., more realistic). Jul 6th
45 Jul 20 Comment A very nice image. I like your idea of cropping out the rocks on the right and some of the water on the left. But, I think you might have cropped out a little too much. Perhaps, a square crop would give the composition better balance...cropping about half of what was cropped on the right side and keeping in some of the boulders on the left. I made some edits by re-cropping the original and darkening some of the bright boulders. These are just my thoughts, and I realize you may have seen the image much differently. Jul 2nd
45 Jul 20 Comment A nice capture of the deer looking directly at the camera. If this were my image, I would probably crop it some more to, perhaps, a square crop. The tall weed to the right is rather distracting. Also, there appears to be a magenta overcast that needs to be corrected. Otherwise, the grasses in the foreground and background nicely frame the deer and keeps the image clean and simple. Jul 2nd
45 Jul 20 Comment Excellent capture and great timing catching the mother bird just about to feed the baby bird with its mouth open. My only suggestion might be to crop out most of the bright background and the bottom of the bird feeder. Jul 2nd
45 Jul 20 Comment Your use of Photoshop and Nik certainly made this image come to life. Great job! Although I might not have made the concrete structure so bright as the lighting doesn't look realistic. The repetitions in the clouds also look unnatural, but are easily fixed in Photoshop (just use the clone tool at 10% flow and select a different location). I would also crop a little from the left side to where the arch meets the land, and maybe a little off the bottom, too. Jul 1st
45 Jul 20 Comment There is something I quite like about this image. Maybe it's the nautical theme with the globes, fisherman book, sea shell and pipe. The title "Globes" doesn't capture the essence of your still life though. The globes are certainly the most interesting subject. And, I like how you made the back wall nicely textured. I might consider changing the color of the book from red to a brown in Photoshop. The red color calls for attention while the globes should be the main focus. But, the composition is excellent. Did you use focus stacking? At f/5.6, I would expect a rather shallow depth-of-field. Jul 1st
