Very nice abstract image. The colors are wonderful and the white patterns really grab your attention. What are the white patterns? The background must have been pretty far away for to get that nice even texture at f/9. Very well done! |

Very nice shot! The closeup works really well with this type of flower. It is well balanced and I really think the green leaves at the bottom 'support' the flower really well.
It would be interesting to see this shot when using a diffuser as well. I like the bright look to the image but a diffuser would soften the shadows. Do you carry a small diffuser with you? I carry a 12" diameter diffuser that folds down to about 3" across in my bag and then hand hold it while exposing a picture. Comes in really handy.
Very nice sharpness for being handheld. |

I really like the background. The colors and the bokeh really work well in this image. I'm one of the folks that cannot get my head around a soft image but I know a lot of people like the look. My eye says to me that the photographer 'just missed' the focus. I have the same problem with intentional camera movement (ICM) images. The two large petals to the right are very close to being 'in focus' so, to me, that works well with the image. In this case, the selective focus works for me. |

Very interesting subject. I'm finding that finding the right subjects for 2x and above magnification is not easy. The are either too big or not interesting.
At first I thought they looked like lizard heads!!
One question about your setup. With a Four-thirds camera with a 17.4 x 13 sensor, at f6.7 at 2x magnification shouldn't you use a 0.11 step size on the WeMacro? I'm new to the WeMacro and the calculator gives me 0.108. I put in a 0.2 step overlap. Just curious. |

The colors are beautiful and the crystals look like feathers. It is a very pleasing image to look at. That magnification are you using on the microscope? If you haven't already, check out Alan Walls on Youtube because he does high magnification photography using microscope objectives. He uses a variety of setups so you may get some ideas from him. |

Thanks Carol. At 3x I was only able to capture the front part of the bee. If the bee is about an inch or so long it would be 3+" on the sensor.
I've put a linear slider on my camera mount so I can move the camera left-right. The thought being I can make multiple stacks like I do when focus stacking when shooting a panorama. I obviously could just change the magnification but I'd like to try and get a high magnification image made up of multiple horizontal rows. So I will move the camera horizontally instead of rotating it around the no parallax point. We'll see if my panorama software can stitch it together! |
