Very nice composition and great detail in the flower. I would not have imagined the blooms were that small. I like the lighting of the background and I agree with you that the pavement gives a nice feel in the bottom part of the image. I think you could have darkened the right side a little more to remove the distraction of the flower and stem in the background...or maybe even moving it out of the way when taking the shot as well. |

I like the one labeled 'original' which I believe is the one with the texture background. To me, an insect on a 'clean' background doesn't look real. The insect on the texture adds a bit of realism in my opinion. |

As others have said, the colors are wonderful. The composition is very nice especially with the offset location of the buds. I agree with others that the backgroud showing through in lower left and right should be darkened using either a selective mask or a vignette. |

It is a very interesting subject and nice contrast between the green and yellow/tan. If the resolution would support it I would try cropping in very tight showing some of the green and some of the yellow. The right side doesn't add to the overall subject but cropping in tight would really make an interesting picture. |

I really like how you captured the flower and its out-stretched arms. It really looks like it is reaching out to you. The only thing I'd play with is to slightly darken the background to provide more separation between the background and the flower. |

I also like how you softened the stem and leaves. The v-shape of the leaves help to move your eye up to the tulip itself. Since the lighting on the leaves are uniform on both sides, I think the tulip bulb itself should have a little more lighting on the left side. |
