Hi Michael,
The composition of this image is excellent. I like the closeup and the capture of the most important elements of the scene. It would have been nice to capture all of the antenna but since more that just the tip is missing it is not a distraction and your brain fills in the rest. If only the tip had been missing then that would have been more of an issue. To my eye, the only real issue I have is that I would have liked to see the eye in sharp focus. That is usually the key element for any animal picture and the eye is just a little soft here. Otherwise, an excellent picture. |

Hi Charlie,
From a technical perspective I think you have accomplished your goal and created an exceptionally sharp and clear image. It is probably one of the most crystal clear images I've ever seen. However, from an aesthetic image perspective I'd have to say...so? I don't think that was your intent so I am not critical of just a collection of small parts on a flat surface.
As a Nikon user I've been jealous of folks using the Canon 1-5x macro lens. I don't believe anyone makes an adaptor that would fit onto my Nikon Z6 camera. At least I haven't found one yet. Maybe some day! |

This is a very dramatic image and that aspect is very well done. I'd argue that it borders on being a closeup given the subject matter. As others have said, it is over processed to my eye and therefore doesn't look realistic. That said, the dramatic effect carries the day! |

Hi Lynn,
I think you've done a very nice job with this picture. I really like to colors and they are set off nicely by the white background. I'm not too concerned about not seeing more of the stem or the junction because the brain fills that in and I know they are there. If I was to do anything, I would have reduced the white space at the top of the picture by about half. To my eye, it has the feel of being low on the canvas and reducing the white are at the top would help eliminate that feeling. |

Hi Nancy,
Being late to comment I would have to agree with a lot of the comments already made about your picture. I do like the cropped version that Dick made but I am not 'hung up' on the flip or not. My only suggestion would to have had a little more depth of field so a few more of the flowers would be in focus. To my eye, focus drops off a little to quick. It is a lovely subject and I think it makes a wonderful picture. |
