65 Dec 20 Comment I really like the flower selection because it has a lot of character and very interesting coloring. I agree that there is a little too much going on around the edges of the frame and agree with Charles to crop closer into the scene. With an image like this you could really 'work the scene' and take a variety of shots. Moving the camera position to the right would remove some of the unwanted clutter and possible give a more uniform background. Another pose would be to shoot the back of the flower....that is often overlooked. Overall, it is a nicely captured image. Dec 22nd
65 Dec 20 Comment This is a very nice silhouette and reminds me of some old B&W horror movie. The image stirs up many feelings which is exactly what it should do. The two tone black & white with no intermediate gray works very well. I disagree a little bit with Lynne in that, to my eye, I would have removed the little hairs/fuzz. They seem distracting to me. Nice job. Dec 22nd
65 Dec 20 Comment You are very successful at creating an interesting image without the viewer knowing what the underlying item is being photographed. The various lines and angles in different parts of the image create nice textures and provides different resting points for the eye to linger. The two tone image (black and blue-ish) works very well...if the toy was multicolored it would have been distracting. Very nice image. Dec 22nd
65 Dec 20 Comment I like the idea of shooting through objects like a crystal ball or other translucent materials. After looking at it a few times I finally saw the globe as the bounding area around the orchid. I would have liked a more specific subject to draw your attention. There is too much going on and needs a focal point. Dec 22nd
65 Dec 20 Comment You have created an extremely nice photography to use as a Christmas card. I like how you left an open area on the upper left for space for lettering. I assume that was your intent and if not, it was a wonderful accident!! The colors are very bright and contrast nicely with the background. The overall look and feel is very wintery and joyful. Very well done. Dec 22nd
