Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
67 Dec 19 Comment Todd,

Thanks for your comments. I was taking a closer look at the part that you thought was a little fuzzy. I think that the head and most of the neck are wet from getting the fish, so the feathers are all matted down. FYI, I took everyone's inputs, which were great, and came up with this updated image.

67 Dec 19 Reply I did read it carefully :-). I was just hopeful you would buy us all lenses, but really anyone in the group could buy it for me :-). Dec 18th
67 Dec 19 Comment Madhu,

What a nice shot, and it does show the food chain in the wild. I agree with Larry and some of the others in that if the crop could be a little tighter, it would really focus on the eyes, which is the heart of the photo. If Larry is offering to buy us all larger lenses, I am in! What a great opportunity you had, shooting in that environment!

67 Dec 19 Comment Larry,

I can't really say anything more than the others have already said. Quite an amazing shot, and the attention to the composition, etc is inspiring! For me, the eye and the texture of the water with the circular raindrops is what really makes this! Really well done!

67 Dec 19 Comment Again, sorry for the delayed response. I do like how you cropped to focus on the tighter grouping of the flowers. For me, I like sharp focus for flowers unless you are focusing on just one aspect of one flower. I agree with Todd that perhaps a little greater depth of field would have helped. I think that the concept is really good, tough, bright flowers with a drab city background. Dec 18th
67 Dec 19 Comment Todd,

I recall these cascades from a few years back. I think that you did a really nice job on the crop and the details in the water! Well done.

67 Dec 19 Comment Michael,

Sorry for my late response on this. I have been traveling for work. Nicely done shot! I know how difficult it is in macro to balance your subject being in sharp focus and also having bokah in the background. I do agree with the others on Larry's cropped version.

67 Dec 19 Comment Richard,

I have seen this type of photo and I agree that I like the look. For me, and certainly personal preference, is that some images look better when every other distraction is removed, darkened, lightened, etc. I think that it would look really nice in print. Well done.
