Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
92 Oct 19 Comment Hi Geoff - welcome as well. The thing that grabs me about this image is all of the various textures. Also the uniqueness of the round lines of the curb and the sharp angle of the building all coming to gather. I'm also agreeing with the B&W choice. Nice job.

92 Oct 19 Comment Hey thanks Geoff. I was wondering what the results would be with a blurred depth of field. I'm not proficient with photoshop and appreciate you taking the time to make the modification. It does look a little more like a 3-D image. But I must admit when the person and car pops, it loses that "street" look. Not sure if that's the way I would go with it. Thanks for the feedback.

92 Oct 19 Comment Thanks Chuck. Yes, people are pretty nice on the whole. Oct 7th
92 Oct 19 Comment Great colors. I think the textures were captured wonderfully. I struggled with cropping the street light out of the image or not. Both ways kind of worked for me. Without the street light the subject became the man in the scene. With the street light, I bounced back and forth between the light and the man but it made for a fuller image. Either way, very nice image. Oct 7th
92 Oct 19 Reply Ya know, after posting my comments, I looked at the image again and I sort of like the softness and dreaminess of the image. A sharper image would probably take that mood away. ....for what its worth. :-) Oct 7th
92 Oct 19 Comment I think this point of view is great. At first glance, the softness of the image did not distract but Stephen has a good point about the f stop selection in order to get everything sharp. (I struggle with this as well.) But on the other hand, not sure if it matters due to the wonderful angle of the image. Also, not a fan of tripods for street. Just because it's more stuff to carry but sitting the camera down can be the option because this is a stagnant image. Also, love the choice of B&W. Oct 7th
92 Oct 19 Comment Ahh yes, I feel the image in drawing me into the scene and the location. The ability to capture the detail inside the doorway is key for me and makes it real. I do tend to like the horizontal as opposed to the landscape view only because of the vertical doorway and capturing the sign above. His legs are long and the stand that the drinks are on are vertical as well. It all makes me keep looking vertical. Also, the slight step, you've taken to the left, in order to capture this image is key. Shooting straight on would have been a total different look. IMHO!! The colors are very true and not over saturated. Very nice Lou. Oct 7th
92 Oct 19 Comment As opposed to what I would generally think of as a street scene, I find this image very personal and appealing. It may not resonate with others but it's an image that resonates with your family and close friends. I can see them all laughing and talking about this trip and the memories it brings years to come. I think we all have done this at one point or another. It's a family keeper and treasure. Oct 7th
