5 Sep 20 Reply Stephen,
The choice of flowers was based on what was in our garden. I chose to use mostly flowers with translucent petals.

5 Sep 20 Reply Donna,
Thanks for your thoughts. The stems are real, but detached so that the flowers would lie flat. I should rearrange them to make them look more natural. There is no clip, but my square crop clipped some leaves at the bottom. Again, some rearranging is in order. I will keep these suggestions in mind for the next floral arrangement!

5 Sep 20 Reply P.S. Here is a version blended with a texture. This one was not inverted in LAB. Sep 11th
5 Sep 20 Reply I would love to claim credit for the technique, but alas I must give it to Harold Davis, a wonderfully creative photographer and outstanding teacher. You can find him on You Tube (of course). This image was created after watching a 5 part series that starts with this one.

Warning! Once you start learning from Harold, be prepared to go down the rabbit hole. He has lots of great ideas on display.

5 Sep 20 Comment Richard,

I love the exposure, DOF, and detail in the subject. The color palette is very nice. A subtle vignette could be helpful. I'm curious, what did the auto enhance add?

5 Sep 20 Comment Oliver,

Kudos on having the courage to ask. It really paid off. Exposure is excellent. The DOF is very good. Choice of color over black and white works to your advantage as well. My only suggestion would be to include all of her hair with slightly different centering or stepping back a little. Great portrait!

5 Sep 20 Comment Nick,

Your integration of the two species is nicely done. The blending of the hooves into the foreground is excellent. Exposure and composition are also well done. Next time try an elephant and a crocodile!

5 Sep 20 Comment Steven,
Excellent composition. You successfully achieved a high key look and the squint of the eyes reinforces the idea of a sunny day.I like the way the arm is resting on the lower frame edge, almost making it look as if it was coming out of the picture.

5 Sep 20 Comment Barbara,
How interesting! First, I like your technique of rolling up the edges. I need to learn that. I really like this composition. To be different, I'll say I like v2 with the black. I like the contrast. You've captured lots of detail and the exposure is good. Good creative ideas at work here.

6 Sep 20 Comment I share the sentiments of the other members. This is a fabulous image of a simple subject. I have been doing some focus stacking recently and find that Photoshop meets my needs. Do you have a particular reason for using Helicon Focus? Sep 11th

10 Sep 20 Comment Very nicely done, in my opinion. You might try to do some dodging and burning of the flower to give it a little more depth. Also, I think the cropping is just a little too tight. Sep 11th
10 Sep 20 Comment I like your willingness to experiment with this difficult composite. I have a few thoughts I can share.

1. The women are too big relative to the background.
2. Three subjects would definitely be better (rule of odds).
3. The lighting is from different directions on the two women. It needs to be consistent
4. The women need to blend in better so that they don't look as if they were just pasted in. Sometimes a blended color layer can help.
I am no expert, so all I can do is that you search for some web content that will help you with these issues.
