5 Mar 20 Reply Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to reshoot this to avoid hotspots. Mar 11th
5 Mar 20 Comment Ha! I saw the determination in his eyes before I read the title. Well done. The net in the background is a good choice.Exposure is good also. I agree about the stick and left hand. The right hand and stick are just a bit blurred. At 1/640, it shouldn't be motion. DOF perhaps? Mar 6th
5 Mar 20 Comment Tack sharp. Beautiful pose and great lighting. Nothing I can add to make it better. Mar 6th
5 Mar 20 Comment Very imaginative. I have tried a little compositing and know it is difficult to make it look realistic. I'm not skilled enough to make useful suggestions, but besides the missing shadow, the lighting of the subjects is inconsistent. Nevertheless it's a fun image to look at. Mar 6th
5 Mar 20 Comment I always appreciate a good portrait, because it's what I do the least. I agree with all that has been said. The darkened green works for me. The word "Rock" showing through his long hair is a nice touch Mar 6th
5 Mar 20 Comment The eyes have it! I must agree.Your timing was good. I really like Oliver's tone changes, too. I like the dark background which really sets off his sunlit face. Mar 6th
5 Mar 20 Reply Yes, the reflections are problematic, but I wanted some in the frame to help the viewer understand the subject. Don't know if a polarizer might help. I like Stephen's repair of the hot spot and will try that myself. Oliver's take is also cool. Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep refining the process. Mar 6th
5 Mar 20 Comment Stephen,

This is a great shot. The birds are in good focus with a hint of motion in the wings. The background really helps the birds stand out. Your crop was wise, giving a little more room ahead of the birds. I don't know if those are bird reflections at the bottom, but they help the composition, as well. I like the way you toned down the highlights to give much better detail in the feathers. I was shooting birds last week on South Padre Island. I know how hard it is to capture moving targets!
