Great image and as suggested removing the bush makes it stronger. Perfect in B&W. |

I agree with Chuck the people in the background just distract from the main focus which is great. |

Great interaction between father and daughter I would like to emphasis it. Because she is in black darkening the background would lose her in my opinion, the playground is good but the back board over the goal ring is too bright. |

Thank you for your comments it illustrates the challenges of street photography. I had considered all the issues that you mentioned. I had driven past this scene on quite a busy road stopped and walked back. I took a few images on different angles across the road and then crossed over and took some more where her painting was the focus but you could not get a sense of the scene. I worked on de-saturating the bags as the red one was very bright and distracting, I tried her more to the left but that angle cut out the painting, angles were limited as I had to stay on the footpath. I wanted the sky, the scene and the painting, the best spot would have been the middle of the road! As I could not change elements as she was unaware I was taking photos, but I did have a great conversation with her afterwards as I photographed the river. Always lots to explore and try different things. |
