I agree with Geoff I think the f4 putting some chairs in and out of focus disturbs the image, pity you could not have moved the chair in front of him. If you are asking permission to take the shot you could ask if you could move the chair. Just a thought for another time. The empty chairs otherwise add to the story, which is very much of our time. Good capture. |

Agree with all, I think monochrome or subdued colour really emphasizes communication between people. |

Strong social message of the time, to me it says bleakness, which is what is happening everywhere. I agree about bringing out the shadows a bit more and totally agree with the importance of recording history as it is happening. |

Great street shot just what I look for, I think Albert's adjustments really adds to it. Well done. Regarding previous discussions this sort of shot in a public place from further away is fine in my opinion. |

It is a tricky issue. I travel quite widely and I love people shots and take a lot, in most countries in Africa, Asia and the islands it is fine but I am more hesitant here in Australia. If it is an event and people are dressed up I would ask permission by a smile and a nod, people tend to look away if they are not happy. If they are extremely interesting looking shots, I ask and as an older woman I think I have more leeway at times. I think phones have made a big difference sometimes it means they don't care anymore and sometimes they are just over it. If international tourists want to take my photo I always co-operate as a goodwill gesture. |
