Brandon. I like the image. The long exposure makes it difficult but I believe that if you could have made the bar more in focus then the patrons blurred motion would stand out more. As it looks either the image was not in focus or there was an overall motion blur. (Judging by the fact that you got all 3 colored lights in the image it was a long exposure leading me to believe it was motion blur).
Also the green light on the left is very hot and detracts from the rest of the image. The eye tends to gravitate to the bright green light and not the bar as I believe you intend. Could you dim it a bit with post processing?

HI Jill. love the image and contrasting colors. Tells a nice simple story. Did you consider cropping out the canal? To me it is distracting from the story. I would suggest leaving just enough to let the view know it is a canal etc. Maybe crop it at the end of the orange building, cutting our the distraction other boats and houses. |

I tried it in B&W. Attempted to make it look like the old Kodak Tri-X film.
Although I like the effect I still prefer the color version where his sunglasses match the words on his cap.

I like the image, I agree that the structure to the right should have been cropped out.
I also think that the color image is more impactful. Maybe adjusting it to give it a KODACHROME feel could give it that "timeless" look.
Also the astronaut would place them in the late 60s early 70s more in like with older slide films then B&W.
But still a great image. Showing the love between the 2 girls.
Just my 2 cents. |

I agree with your choice to go B&W. it gives the image a timeless quality and it also achieved your objective of masking the background. There is something about smoking a cigarette that looks better in B&W, the smoke just stands out, becomes a focal point in B&W. Very nice capture! |
