60 Sep 19 Comment Thank you, everyone, for your comments and suggestions. I will be trying this again - I know I can nail it! Sep 24th
60 Sep 19 Comment Beautiful! I can see the point of focus, perfectly positioned in the composition to draw attention, and because the focus softens gradually, it flows nicely. I can see this as an art print for sure. Sep 19th
60 Sep 19 Comment Where I grew up, morning glories are mostly white. The vibrant color in this one is beautiful. The luminosity of a flower like this one makes it a more challenging shot, and you nailed that beautifully. My eye did go to the dark edge on the flower at about 2 o'clock, and then I found myself distracted by the spots on the leaf. I occasionally struggle with the decision to edit or not when it comes to blemishes or natural elements that occur in nature. I have loved an image on camera until I notice a dead flower or leaf in the background. I try to decide right then if I will opt for post edit or shoot in a different angle or a new flower right then. I lean towards editing to perfection, although not always successfully, so the viewer will appreciate the overall subject without distraction. Sep 19th
60 Sep 19 Comment The composition of the flower is perfect, especially the slight angle. From the color in the water to the yellow center, it all goes well together without one aspect overpowering another. I didn't see the dragonfly on the flower until I saw a distinct shadow of a dragonfly below it. As I looked closer I had to do one of those head tilt things to understand how the shadow and the dragonfly on the flower didn't match up. Then I saw another faint shadow that is pointing in the same direction as the one on top. So, I believe there was another dragonfly behind the flower, correct? Sep 19th
60 Sep 19 Comment Cute little guy! The angle in your composition brings the eye right to the focal point. You can see the details much better after you toned down the warmth that is in the original. Nice shot and edit. Sep 19th
60 Sep 19 Comment Denise & Bill, You are both right, it was a good concept, and one that I haven't done in the past. I was trying something new. I agree with all the comments. I already have a multitude of macro shots that I really like that I should have submitted. Learning opportunity. :) Thank you for your feedback! Sep 12th
