Great job to see this doorway and all the lovely textures. To me some additional contrast, vibrance/saturation and perhaps darkening the grey wall on the right slightly might enhance the image. For my eye, the vertical line needs a little straightening. |

As you say, this was about practising a new process. I can't open the image on my apple mac so am looking at a very small photo but looks like a good job to me.
Andrew - am interested you say you do this hand held - have always shied away because I thought you needed a tripod - will have to have a go, myself! |

My interpretation of this image is that the main subject is the boats, enhanced by the lovely morning sky. Therefore, I would look at brightening the boats a bit & perhaps slightly desaturating the sky and parts of the lake to draw attention more to the main subject. However its a very pleasing shot anyway. |

I agree that this is a slightly unusual view from the Eiffel tower (great!) and I like how you have almost mirrored the shape of the window with the metal structure. I find the white of the buildings a bit distracting to the balance of the image which I feel could be improved with some burning in this area. |

For me this is a striking image and something a little different to many dark sky fireworks images that we see. I find the composition pleasing and like the few buildings in the bottom of the image which give your photo context rather than being just an abstract. |

To me this is a very nice image of a motorbike rider. I like how you have managed to capture a richness of colour on what is clearly a dismal day. For my eye, the focus is sharp across the entire subject, capturing he intense look on the riders face. The image does leave me wishing I could see a little more of the bike in the bottom of the image. |
