Humm. I know a Doug W . from another DD :) This is a beautiful image Doug and with excellent sharpness and composition. I do wonder if the Yellow flower in the background is just a tad over saturated but this is very well done. |

Meredith, this is a beautiful bird. I'm not a bird photographer either, but you should be very pleased with this image. I note that Peter had a question on the background. I questioned the birds perch being perfect. No signs of the bird being attached to a thether. So I'm not having an issue. A judge that knows his birds might find the tether and bird problematic. That only becomes an issue if the subject is part of a "Nature" competition. Well done. |

Hi Mark. This is a beautiful scene and enhanced by shooting in full bloom and green grasses. I don't see you having many options for composing. It seems that you did pick an overcast day or at least with the sun behind clouds. I like to shoot when sun is not out creating lots of shadows. One idea that I like to try, is to select the sky that is showing thru holes in the leaves and then adjust that color to make it darker. |

Hi Donna. I thought I would drop in and say hi. As you will find out, I really like creating Creative images. I agree with your using ICM as there are so many birds it's hard to isolate any subject (or if birds weren't flying at that time sunset is a good time to get more creative). I agree with your metadata and have nothing that I would suggest changing. OK, Map shows Lodi is not on the coast so upper part of the image shadow is/are not ocean waves. I'm going to go with, hills in the distance and you moved up and down while zooming. Its always informative to learn what ICM was used to get the effect |

Hi Peter. I'm the new guy on the DD10 team. However, I'm not young or new to PSA DD. Flowers are my favorite subject to photograph. I really love the colors you are presenting. I don't mean to be critical, but offer suggestions on how you might improve your image. Thank you for providing your metadata. It seems that only the lower lily is entirely in focus. At f16 I would find the sweet spot of the depth of field that gives you the best coverage from front to back. I agree with Meredith about the composition and without seeing your original whether cropping or backing up will give the best results. I'm not trying to cost you money, but if you had a zoom lens it becomes much easier to move closer or backup. Perhaps you shot another image that has a different focus spot or is closer or further away? |

Thanks Tim for your comments. Yes, some images just won't let go of your memory. That's supposedly a good thing.
Stay well

Hi Judy. Congrats on your M2 award. This is also a beautiful image and you used a great camera. I had D300 and D300s and they did a great job, but, The bump up to Nikon D750 and currently D780 you'd be very impressed how much your better your photography has gotten, ie: Much faster auto focus pops in, faster motor drive, "Back button focus", much less dust on the sensor, iso without noise to greater. Use the LCD screen (minor touch exposure) wherever you want on the panel. I know many switching to Z6 to Z8's might be tempting, but that depends on how much new lenses will cost on top of camera. I'm running out of space. I like the way you have this image composed, I might change the moving lower margin so that it crops out the darker grass or whatever and doesn't cut into the sand hill on the left. I'd also try dehaze on the purple mountains in the middle. I'm moving on and you'll find me on group 10 or 80. Keep up the great work. Bob L |

Thanks Tim. Maybe create motion with Ps, but I know you have other keepers in your folio. I'll miss your great sports and Pj work, I'm moving on to Group 10.
Stay well.

Kathy, I Love your creative handling of the liquids. I didn't go to NECCC in 2012, had a family reunion. I have been other years and this setup was present. My images didn't come out as good as yours so they were trashed. At the time was processing skills were lacking removing the background and making the liquids transparent with color edges. As I remember the setup you have done a great description of how the contraption worked. You also did a great job of eliminating any flash hot spots. |

A beautiful starp, exposed well, and composed image of maple leaves. No spots or defects except minor defect in the large leaf on top. That could be fixed in LsC of Ps unless it's heading for PSA competition. But then again this composition won't pass muster as the large leaf at the top will never be sitting in this composition. I'm quite sure it came from a different kind of maple tree. ie: sugar maple vs red maple. |

Hi Tim. The main rider is sharp, well exposed and composed well, however, I'm disappointed because there is no indication of motion. Front tire Showing no motion and while the drivers boot is off the ground there is no movement. You used it all the sand in the title? I'm positive you have better pics based on your photos I have seen. You picked this image because of? A portrait of the winner? I'm generally with you 100% Tim. Please help me out, this maybe an OK pic for others but....You have a following here!

Thank you Ingrid. I was having a problem placing the flower and whether to have it on top or having foam coming over it. |

Well done Rich. It's amazing what a more experienced photographer can do with better imaging software. Keep them coming, now that winter has come and gone in FL. |

I'm forgiving the tight crop as Ingrid did a super job of getting off the sick bed and submitting it under and hour. I like the orientation of the gold eye glasses on the top right. Maybe that's how Waldo can be found? Chat GBT didn't know either.
Fantastic work Ingrid. Get better soon. |

Very good ideas Marti, I bet that Kamal now sees the benefit of commenting early and asking any questions he might have. I second the rotation and cropping as it also moves some of the under water distracting spots. |

Thanks Marti. I've been working on other flowers and other waves. I have Roses with dew that I will use. I didn't paint in the rose but I did use some creative removal as the Rose was hanging as shown and I tried to use the Lighten Blend modest needed to catch water that was not overdone. Thanks for your ideas. |

Thanks Kamal. This is a tricky image as it had a little too much water on it. You did very well and I'm very pleased how you keep progressing with your images and editing. |
