25 Oct 25 Comment A very nice image Jennie. You made good use with your osprey time off. I don't have any problem with your image. I do find your posted gear specs to be very helpful. Considering that you have a great camera and lens and had the iso to give you more light, I would of changed the aperture to maybe F7 or F9. That could take care of a slight blurs in the wings. I haven't been a fan of flash anymore now that higher iso can solve more exposure in just a few seconds. The flash could potentially be aimed at the wrong angle creating flare off of the water. But you have a very fine image as it is. Oct 24th

29 Oct 25 Reply Thank you Jennie. I appreciate your comments. Yes, I do like to go outside the box that many feel compelled to stay within. Oct 24th
29 Oct 25 Reply Thanks for your idea Bob, but I think it's overdone with the blue texture in the sky.
I could live with the blue on the buildings I think you over did yourself on that texture in the sky. What did you use to create this edit?

29 Oct 25 Reply Bob, the liquid zoom was my way of referencing my reply as being all wet, without fact and that was without knowing you had departed the west coast. Oh well, enjoy MN. Oct 18th
29 Oct 25 Comment Bob, here's some liquid Zoom for you. The image you posted just above, is neither the original or the edited one in your posting, unless you shortened it. The window partition is also not wooden as in the other two. So you did edit a copy of the original. I would have cropped out the curtains. They add nothing to this beautiful window glass and yard outside. I'm not worried about the 3rd element being missing. The trees in bloom add that dimension. Now stop trying to confuse us and go with the original and edited as you've shown. It is interesting and well built. Not too busy unless we need to add your other light in that same window. Cheers! 29 Oct 25 Comment Very beautiful image, the chicks aren't looking quite beautiful yet. During Spring you had plenty of activity to photograph. Years ago we were there during early February and no chicks then. I like the edits you performed and some will knock you out of Nature, but that's not to worry about here. I can't come up with any more suggestions or edits. Oct 12th
29 Oct 25 Reply An interesting thought Karen. Of course I have multiples of the original. I'm not sure if you can straighten just the tower at the end I think the painted buildings will change also. You know that sometimes a dramatic change works better than a small one and then folks aren't sure why you changed history. I just gave it a try using guided Transform tool. They all lean back from the waterfront on left and when straightening the tower the image needs to be given more room on the left side. I just gave them all a new paint and texture. Oct 12th
29 Oct 25 Comment Karen, a wonderful vision you have and the abilities to make it work. No extra seconds to record such a beautiful shot. Oct 12th
29 Oct 25 Comment Excellent job Judy. I've ben practicing on circular but haven't found the right subject beyond flowers. I'll have trouble catching you if you keep progress like this. :-)

29 Oct 25 Comment Very well done Elaine. Would a square crop work better? Extra room on the left side? Oct 12th
29 Oct 25 Comment A perfect curve ball Tim, right over the plate. I don't see a thing I would change. Oct 12th

80 Oct 25 Reply Thank you Ingrid for your valued opinion, and happy that you like the main Dahlia. I know I could have replaced the lower flower but I hated to just remove when there might be a way of editing that truly makes a unique image beyond what I have done.

80 Oct 25 Reply Thank you very much Nadia. One of your edits is worth several thousand words and the result is a technique (to this extent) that I have not used before. Thank you. Oct 20th
80 Oct 25 Comment Rich, you've picked out a beautiful flower with fantastic green textures in the shooting thru/foreground and the background. I almost wonder if the flower should be larger in the image and lower. The sky does drag my eye out of the image as the flower isn't enough of a significant subject to cause me to stop. I took a class from Kathleen Clemmons on shoot thru and she mentioned that to emphasizing color in the out of focus foreground works best but she did acknowledge the textured greens approach also work.

80 Oct 25 Comment A very nice Dahlia, Ingrid. Flower color, background color and texture all make this image sing. I'm so beautiful or something like that. I have no suggestions. Very well done. Oct 10th
80 Oct 25 Comment Kamal, this is a great image showing the parts of the pollination process. The image is not tack sharp to my eye. Perhaps CS6 has a Clarity or sharpening adjustment. You didn't note the shutter speed and f-stop so I'm unable to determine if that would lead to the clarity issue. Since the D90 is a 12MP camera, it could also be due to extensive sharpening or a combination of these factors. Some of the Photoshop or 3rd party softwares can also enhance the sharpness. Your composition has really improved over the last year. Oct 10th
80 Oct 25 Comment Doug, you've outdone yourself, 4 beautiful images from One Shot. But on the other hand you've shown what the selection brush can accomplish. I am completely unaware and must confess to not using any brushes. I know it must be placed on my tooodo list. Transformation #2 is my favorite. All very well done. Oct 10th
80 Oct 25 Comment Marti I especially like the variegated red yellows in the center. I'm not as fond about the yellow/white leaves at opposite corners of the image. They bring my eye to those corners and out of the image without staying with the center image. I also would have made the red/pinks a little more saturated or darker, but that's your call. Oct 10th
80 Oct 25 Reply Thanks Rich for your comment. The halos were created by extending the motion/zoom tool beyond the edge of the main subject flower. I agree with your comment about the artists' eye and wonder how much impact the non main subject would lose if it were darker. Oct 10th
80 Oct 25 Reply Thanks for your comments Marti. I agree and I don't. They were living together and no others nearby. What would of been your edits? Too close to crop. Use the remove tool? Darken the non main subject? I'm not asking you to do the editing, I'm looking for answers as to what you are proposing? Thanks Bob Oct 10th
80 Oct 25 Comment A fantastic image and edit Nadia. A beautiful unique flower and a custom background that works so very well. Can't find anything that should be improved.
