Thanks Ron. I know it silly, but the PSA rule about hand of man is done to favor certain groups. It's not okay for a deer to be eating mowed grass but it's okay for a bird to be sitting at its birdhouse or eating at a feeder. In my case, it's not how the dirt got there but the dirt has a texture created by an excavator (as contractor levels it) or it's too dark, like Gunter edited then dirt is not natural looking. |

Thanks Gunter. No Nature study. It would get tossed because the background does look like nature. Only hand of man could make that background. |

It was a great spot Tim. Leaves had fallen just hours before, country living oak tree, extremely hard to make water drops that perfect and couldn't move the leaves and who would have thought of using muddy loam as a backdrop. As you know, just keep your eyes open and have your phone in your pocket for those once in a lifetime shots. |

😠Tim, I changed a sky just last week and did a very good job once I lowered the exposure on the subject. It wasn't a balloon shot. Sorry, I call them as I see them.
There might be a better sky in your catalog that will be a natural fit.

You are not alone with missing the finer points of processing. PSA digital gives us those other eyes to pick them out and to learn how to improve. Then white foamcore works fine. |

Well done Ron. However, I do suggest you try other subjects or brightnesses as I'm thinking that camera might not have the range, sensitivity, pixels etc for other astro subjects. |

Good seeing Gunter. If it were mine, I would try to darken the water particularly in the lower left area. Caught my eye and since this is altered, I would go into photoshop again and crop tool and extend the right side of the image, crop using the lower boat and generative EXTEND has been doing great work like adding the oar and boat? Costs you nothing to give it a try. |

I like the composition and colors and believe that reducing the highlights in the tone curve will give you the results you need. Maybe using the dark slider you can also add to the contrast on the birches and lake. |

I like the red PJ's or base coat thermals. It gets cold at night when the ghosts are out walking and working. I think the sky should be removed it does not add anything. |

I like the burgundy color and the back of flower composition is just fine. I wish the bend and the bright areas on the back of the dahlia were reduced and the colors saturated a tiny bit more. Do we assume you shot this over your light box/pad using tripod? |

I agree with Elaine's comments. Sky was darkened in post or replaced. As a regular balloon photographer, I'm also going to add that the flame burnout in the yellow balloon was because it was taken in low light like the ISO 3200 indicates. I don't have any balloons taken in bright conditions with the burnout. On the positive note, I light the composition and the clouds used in the sky. Also a positive to capture the flames burning on both balloons. |

Okay, I'm on board with the 1:1 crop. I searched, actually had a duplicate but with Dahlia"s". Darn keywords, they aren't always helpful. |

A spectacular job this Rich. I had some reflections in drops like you have. I've been using Photo AI and will have to see if I can get somewhat similar results like you have. As I remember, its been 10+ years and reflection not as good as flowers were further behind. |

Ingrid, thanks for this info. The hydrangeas always seem to have much more blue next to our seacoast. Need boat to see that side of houses in our lakes. I love the focus and detail of the veins on the pink blossoms. Perhaps that's where you focused? |

Thank you Nadia for sharing your creation process with the group. I'll give view the video and try when I find the time. Also great to learn that you like to use Topaz Studio 2 because of some work that I have produced. That's the ultimate compliment concerning the quality of your images. I'm going to go into Studio 2 and see what this "dream cloud" and fading truck presets are. I've had not selected them as favorites, or even remember those names but I'm game to try new looks.

Doug, I just had to go look at the August 2022 DD80 copy of "Leaf 27" and like the greens and the open cells (deteriorating) that Mother Nature helped you create. Perhaps you let #35 weather differently? Only you have the secret sauce. But certainly 2 great images.

A fantastic image Doug. Perfect focus, exposure and mechanics to take all of those images and make them into this beautiful image. |

A beautiful image Nadia, Great composition, exposure, focus and the softening and reducing the vibrant colors of the original. But the best part is the backgrounds reinforcing the Dahlia's appearance. Is it possible for you to explain the steps you go thru to create this background? I've always gone with the saturated look and dark background and failed whenever I try the artistic look you have achieved here. I do agree with Marti that the left side whitish area needs fixing. Thank you. |

A very nice image, Marti. I do like the black background and the colors of the flower. I also feel that the horizontal flip works well. My eyes and brain are trained to enter the image at the bottom left and that works best with this composition. |
