Thanks Tim. I understand, something made me snap the image and then to make something from it. Yes, it happens to most of us at one time or another. |

Tim, I do like the composition and the detail in the column and especially the ceiling. I understand the low light situation you were dealing with and wonder if you had increased your iso that would of improved the sharp details. You did an excellent job with holding the camera steady for the 1/6 sec. I downloaded your image and used Topaz Sharpening AI-Motion to see if I could enhance the details. I believe the detail in the image is improved. What do you think? I find Topaz Sharpening Ai to be a fantastic tool to rescue some images. Sorry, The size went beyond PSA regs and now It came out smaller, but hopefully you'll see what I was referring to. |

Thanks Stephan. I agree. I added the color after determining that I would use in our DD vs the Mono DD that I had originally planned on using. |

You are always capturing these underwater shots with such an amazing ability. The pearls came out very nice, and I wouldn't of picked up on the lightning of the finger tips and face. You are so far beyond my abilities as a diver, photographer and photo editor that you make my head spin. Not sure I've seen Lr before, but are you finding Lr makes your editing easier? Bora Bora has a talented photographer in you Stephan.

Nice composition and freezing, the blue color and the motion. I think the yellowish tones do not work as they appear to be non natural or over saturated. Perhaps they are from the wave bringing up sediment from the bottom but not understandable why only in those spots. I would of picked another location or another wave and you have a good handle on the technique. |

Don't be sorry, I'm not. I understand that we should be taking pictures for ourselves, not others. I did that with the idea of seeing if I could create something and I think I did that. Like any abstract, only a small percentage of viewers will agree with what we created. Thanks for you input. |

What a beautiful image Karen. One would never know that it was shot from a moving bus. Since I like vibrant colors I don't have any issues with the yellow house and orange roof. I might suggest a more saturated blue sky and I would of used a clone Bruch and cleaned up those few pieces of litter. I know, just a nit, but otherwise it is just such a fantastic perfect image to remember your trip by. |

Well, Bill you certainly made this into a beautiful abstract. And a great selection of Ps tools to make it happen. Karen's idea on the contrast works extremely well. I wondered if could of used HSL color filters to change some of the colors but otherwise stylize using Ps filters. I don't think you need to as I really like it and hopefully you will look thru your catalog of images or be on the lookout for other creative images. Great seeing. |

Thanks Bill and Karen. I was concerned that the monster might not be seen without the colors. Bill, I didn't see the result at the time of the shutter click but my trigger finger and Topaz seem to have a connection without going thru my brain, as I have on numerous occasions thought I had a potential pic and I failed to be able to make anything out of it when I'm back at the computer. |

Thanks for the luminosity idea LuAnn. My thought is, I want the viewer to see all the interesting officers in the front row. Please don't be offended, but Luminosity masks are a weak point in my bag of tricks and I'm short on the time right now to try to fix the image. My thought would be to do a radial filter on a smaller version of the canvas and play with the luminosity slider to do that enhancement. I just do not have that time this week. Thanks again.
Hope you are enjoying your time away from the farm.

Well done Israel. The leading lines and brighter tones lead my eye right into the composition. My only nit would be to see if you can sharpen "more" the foreground in the lower right of the frame. |

Bunny, this is a very nice composite. Great tonality and I wouldn't change a thing. Well done. |

Leah, this certainly fits the abstract definition of not recognizing the original subject. For me, I don't think you need to change a thing. Well done, and done in camera without post is even better. |

Thanks Bunny. When I studied the image in post processing I see what you mean about not a fast charge, however, note the horse on the far left and he has much more action because they needed to enter the field at a right angle and the horse on the right is hardly moving as they were doing a pivot motion while staying in formation. Did the Southerners do that in actual battle, I doubt it. Thanks for info on PSA fine art group. I'm checking up on that shortly, but the entry is in a Creative Spreads group with Jennifer King that has monthly 1/2 hr meetings via Zoom with a Subject for each meeting. It has given me some great ideas ever since Spring of 2020 and it's free. |

Pete, I think by now you me enough that I'm a crop, crop, crop guy and dynamic toned subjects. Yes, you were right to revisit the image and crop. And of course a great sky was needed to replace the nothing sky that was present. I do feel Emil's more textured sky works a little better with the great tones on the barn sides and roof. No suggestions on the textured barn toning, that is fantastic. Well done. |

Hi LuAnn. Another equipment trial? RE: your cropping to Portrait although is better than leaving as the horizontal it was. I might of cropped out the upper half as the tree foliage isn't really adding much and the interesting part of the building is the arched opening. Since you were testing I might of also cropped the lower portion of the image (ie: road or path) and the two geese on the left side of the tree. That amount of cropping would give you a good indication of the sharpness of the lens on that camera. Your geese models are all captured sharply and evenly spaced with no overlapping and I don't see any signs of noise from the ISO 1250. I do believe your warm tone adds to the image. Hope I have been helpful.

Emil, I really like the subject, toning and composition. A Big Beauty. A small nit, I wish there was slightly more space in front of the engine on the left. If you had shot earlier or had more room on the left it would of created a more dynamic leading line and removed the centered composition. But then again you were probably fighting with other photogs for a view not blocked with vegetation. I think you were right on with the darkened exhaust smoke. Easy to find more info about "4014 Big Boy" from Google. You should be ever so happy to photograph such a magnificent piece of history.

Thanks for your comments and edits Emil. Yes, the dodging was helpful on some of the men and women. Yes, women on a few of the horses doing the sword clanging and all. Only way we knew that was they came over after the battle and took off their hats and yes females. Think they were daughters or wives of Calvary men. We lucked out as they have this Battle of Cedar Creek almost every year but the Calvary only happens when they have enough participants.
Yes, that's why I remained unclear after hunting for "Fine Art" photographs. Many photogs promote themselves as such but no clear definition.
Thanks
Bob
