Thanks Stephan. Yes, positive not on the lens, the fog was rolling and moving about my back yard and I used the 30sec exposure to capture as much as a could. It disappeared in short order as the sun came up over the hill. |

Thank you Stephan for your suggestion. I wholeheartedly agree once I studied it. I used the radial tool and used a mix of negative dehaze, negative exposure and the spot tool on those houses in the woods. Do you think this works? I Appreciated your suggestions.

Tam, good capture of the bird and reflection. I think I would of increased the exposure of the bird in your computer. Not the background, just the bird. I find the orange ? on the stump (waterline below the bird) to be distracting. It doesn't seem to add to the image so I would of used the erase or clone tool to remove it or make it darker at least. |

Stephan. Yes those buildings looked tall for Boro Bora. I like how you captured all of those colorful boats in the lower half and the setting sunset. It probably wasn't possible at this time of the evening but I think I would of liked to see some of the boat village juxtaposed against the buildings in the background. I'm thinking the living standard is not remotely the same. That would have also removed the water/horizon line from the center. |

Judy, I'm sorry to have confused you. Glow is a filter in Topaz Studio and it is the starting point I use for many of my creations. I don't buy any of their other programs and only use Studio. |

Judy, I have been suffering from reviewers and camera club members stating that my images are "Too" saturated so I have been trying to process with very little saturation. I like your adjustment but it removes much of the fog in the foreground and that is what happened to me so I adjusted the saturation/dehaze lower. I know you have been around these groups and appreciate your thoughts on the saturation.
The image is taken from the rear deck of my home. I'm 30 minutes west of the Front Royal entrance of Skyline Drive. Yes, not close to DC!!! |

Judy, I agree with your liking the lines of the multiple arches and you composed it well. I understand the marks (Rust or ?) are part of its history, but I find them to be lacking. Karens B&W edit makes those marks acceptable, but they don't serve as an interesting point of interest. I might of taken as many steps back as possible and focused on the Row of lights without getting the ceiling marks in the image or I would of used Topaz glow and other filters and totally made an abstract or creative and the rusts marks would then contribute to the image. |

Thanks Karen. I understand about the tongue. On my Alaska trip,2018, I had both a Grizzly and a mountain goat with only 1 horn stick their tongues out at me. Not sure what they are saying to us (I also was using D750) but it is unique and your buck is beautiful and the rack doesn't get lost in the background. |

Great job Karen. Nice and sharp, excellent exposure and a great background. My only disappointment is the cutting off of his antlers. Looks like 10 point buck, but most male viewers will be drawn to the deers head and counting and seeing that impressive rack. You did't mention the mm you shot at so possible you were at the 28mm but I'm thinking you would of left yourself a little more safety room than that. |

Thanks LuAnn. I appreciate all your commentary, but.. I have forgotten whatever I had learnt in my HS Geometry class that I barely passed. I looked up the definition and agree there are spirals but can't really equate it to numbers. Please don't try to explain except we agree they are beautiful spirals.
Cheers

Thanks LuAnn for the compliment. The secret is to build a folder of lots of skies. I've stopped adding and now replace with a better one. But with the exception of multiple skies from the same shoot, Mother Nature doesn't duplicate cloud scenes. |

Thank you Israel. I understand now how you did it. I use Ps for very little and have been experimenting with content-aware fill. And it has not worked well, because I haven't left enough pixels for it gather the fill from, so I'm still working to fix that on the images I tried it on. I have not yet tried it on the lighthouse. Appreciate the help. |

Israel your edit is not immediately clear in my mind. Did you use the transform tool to distort the top of the stairs? I think it enhances the image but I would appreciate knowing what tool you used. Thanks friend. |

Yes, you have me figured out. From 2003 onward using my Nikon D100 6 MP I never loaded anymore film in my camera again. I even kept my Nikon F5 sitting on the shelf and never used it and finally traded in for small dollars. I do have Lots of film and slides from the 80-90's waiting for me to look, digitize (see the grain of the 400iso) or just trash? I've been procrastinating on that project for 5+ years.
Have a great day. |

Well, that gives you a whole bunch of credibility in my book. I've never owned another brand and bought our 512k in mid 90's. Yes, all the years using Aperture rarely did I use Ps and never used subscription Adobe until this past October. I was using Luminar up to then but had to go away from Luminar as my DAM, but still use them for some edits. I'll have to check into actions. I've customized some presets and that has helped speed things along. I have almost 70k images in LrC and that is inflated because I made tiff's of all images back in 2018 when I didn't know what I was going to do after Aperture. Can't just delete the tiff's because there were periods of time where I kept the edited tiffs and moved the NEF's to backup drives and since Luminar didn't have support for key words, I had multiple images in different subject folders. So I have created a mess that I can't bear the thought of leaving for my son. If you don't mind here is my email so that we don't have to put all of this on the DD. boblegg@mac.com

Because it reminds me of my earlier digital cameras and those images aren't worth keeping. (Other than family and historical events). Maybe it's just part of my Yankee upbringing, but of all my 40k plus images I have not added grain to a single one and can't see the reason why. BTW, I don't watch BW movies with my wife either. |

Thanks Bunny. I just started using Adobe again after using Ps in the late 2000's. I used Apple Aperture until it was discontinued. I'm dealing with a loss of short term memory and I have many thousands of Raw images that need to be edited and culled and that is my focus at this time. |

Bunny, Thanks for the history lesson. I was totally unaware but have recently seen the Canadian province of Nunavut. It was only after being able to view the world on my cell phone that I kept on seeing how large that area is. You understand Ps so much more than myself and I'm lacking the true interest in learning anything beyond composites. I do agree that the white snow behind Larry's head could be darkened. |

I agree with your version of the image, Israel. The birds and water create the setting for the image and in a small country like Israel that opening (water channel) is recognizable and only showing the mountain ridge would cause the viewer to wonder where was the image taken. Well done. |

Emil, a great rendering of this city scene. I agree with darkening the street area. My only suggestion would be to add some clouds to the bald sky.
ps: I can't pickup on the perspective change. |

A great job with this find LuAnn. I'm an antique but I don't recommend grain, so I can't comment on that. I like your original version of blacks and whites. I might of opened the shadows on the floor area of the car a little bit more. Well done. |

Well, I guess that being late to the game makes it harder to kick a field goal from my 10 yard line. Like most, the street is missing people or animal subjects. I do think that my "Bob Sky" would have clouds that have white and texture to go with the street than your choice, sooo. Sky replacement in Ps, I used the Red curve in LrC B&W on buildings and graduated filter on the street. Here goes my long shot kick.
