Thanks for your comments, Adrian! Once I printed it and hung it in mono, I ended up preferring it. The woman who bought my colored copy loves the blue because it fits her living room motif. So cool how all of us have different opinions, and of course there never is a right or wrong when it comes to art appreciation! Oh and the view from the bench is spectacular no matter which season! |

Barbara, What a sweet expression you have captured! I find myself wondering what this little creature is thinking about as he poses so perfectly for you. I agree with Isaac's cropping of some of the vegetation so that the viewer can concentrate more on the main subject. Well done! |

Maria,
What a stunning image! I especially love the incredible feathers that you have captured and the lovely water droplets surrounding the egret's face. Your post processing effectively created excellent contrast. Well done! |

Mary, Cool composition! I find the turkey vulture to be such an interesting bird to observe, even though Bruce is right about the face that only a mother could love! Last year a very large number of them hung out across the street from my backyard while they enjoyed something that was in a deserted, almost dilapidated barn. I enjoying watching them. I've attached one of the "portraits" I took of one of them. |

Isaac,
Thank you for your suggestions. I did a series from that day and did include some in high key black and white. I do like the structure and details that you brought out. It was a super cold day, so it really would have been something to have a person on that bench! I'll have to go back in the summer or spring and try to catch someone then! |

Maria, Thank you so much! I had the color version printed on actual metal, which I often use. Framed or unframed, metal prints really look beautiful. (I use Bay Photo for this because in my area metal printing is not available.) It's a beautiful medium to really make colors pop. Although lately I have been trying Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Metallic paper, and I am just loving it. (I purchased it through B & H Photo.) It brings out texture in a beautiful manner. It probably wouldn't work for all prints but for black and white and some color prints it is really pretty. |

Isaac, This is an awesome catch! I especially like the tongue that you captured in burst mode. The use of a diagonal in your composition is very effective. I love the texture of the snake's skin. In the other image I like the way the snake's eye and the wasp's eyes are so perfectly lined up, making a very interesting story as I view it, wondering who is going to win the staring contest! |

WOW, Bruce! There is so much that I enjoy about this image....the texture of the bear's fur as well as the texture of the fish scales, the detail of the bear's matted fur and the fabulous drips of water. The depth of field is very effective. I do think this bear needs to get a manicure for its nails... |
