Adrian, After reading your description and never having been to the Grand Tetons, I SO want to go to this iconic spot. What a glorious sunset you were able to capture with such spectacular natural beauty! The composition is effective; I especially like the way the path leads me directly to the barn and the triangular shape of the roof aligns in a parallel manner with the triangular shape of the mountains. I tend to agree with the comments about the color. |

Maria, I am a huge fan of ducks so I found myself staring at your image for awhile! I especially like the leading lines of the ripples that bring me right to the duck's eye. This is a lovely composition with great colors. How nice to see blue water! Here where I live in upstate NY, the water is very gloomy this time of the year! |

Barbara, I agree with Bruce and Isaac about the simplicity of your lovely image, which has a wonderful title! You have effectively cropped the image so that the viewer can focus on the relationship. Your lighting is also very effective. The parallel lines of the egret's head and the donkey's ear adds interest as well. Nicely done! |

Isaac, I am learning a great deal about stallions from this month's images! Once again I am thoroughly enjoying the interesting story that you seem to capture so beautifully in your wildlife images. I do agree with Bruce about the crop. On my screen the horses look a bit flat, so I added a bit of dehaze to make them pop just a bit more. |

Thanks, Isaac. I do like how you brightened up the couple. When I was editing the image, I did try something similar to your crop; but I kept going back and forth with it because the horizon seemed too centered in the pano crop, like yours. My pano had more of the sky removed, which avoided the centered horizon, but I like the complementary colors of the blue and orange in the original and in your crop. In my pano crop below, in my effort to avoid centering the horizon, I lost the blue portion of the sky. Thoughts anyone? |

Bruce, What a fabulous capture! Your image makes your persistence worth what you went through to get it. The contrast between the horses and the field/sky makes your choice of black and white very effective. I especially like the story being told in this image. I don't know very much about stallion behavior; so I really don't know what might be going through his mind as he kicks out his foot; however, it seems to me that he is asserting himself and showing his dominance. I am picturing him saying, "Don't even think about it!" Nicely done! |

Bruce,
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I truly enjoy living so close to Lake Ontario and the beautiful sunsets that I can see on a regular basis. I hope that after others read the PSA article, perhaps they might be able to visit my area! Happy New Year.-Marie |
