Adrian,
Thank you! Yes, I have found this odd technique to work pretty well since I purchased the Nikon 850. I do have a macro lens, but you are right about the DOF struggle! I will try your suggestion and see how I do. I appreciate your comments.

Randy, Thank you. I also have wanted to get those eyes with multi-segments but no luck yet! I will have to dedicate some time to going out with my macro and be patient! |

Adrian, What a cool bird! Your post processing has brought out its details well. I'm wondering if the gannet might pop even more if the background was kept a bit darker. I'm also curious where you found such an interesting bird. |

Walt, Wow! Another amazing transformation with your post processing. The texture and vibrancy keep my attention as I look all around at the interesting objects in this kitchen. |

Mary, these are impressive images. I really like the second one you posted! In the first image I particularly like the way you have captured the tops of the canola scattered across the line of hills. The contrasts you have captured between the fields, hills and clouds are very effective. |

Randy, Like many my favorite bird is the hummingbird and these are lovely images. We mainly get the ruby throated hummingbirds in our area, so I was intrigued with your black chinned captures. I prefer your image of the male with its purple throat, which is lovely up against the green background, as it complements his coloring. (Although I do love the feet in your Jewel in the Sky image!) Nicely done. |

Bruce, this image is so compelling! I just love how the baby is seemingly whispering "I love you" to its mama. The square crop and the simple background enhance the image nicely. |

Isaac,
What a fabulous image! I am also drawn to the story created. I found myself thinking about Buck from the Call of the Wild. Great captures. |
