Thanks, Adrian. Yes, that 850 has been a fabulous investment! I go back and forth with the square vs the rectangular image. I tend to include negative space with my bird images. He certainly was in an awkward position. When I came across him while hiking, I was positive I had found a rare species.....I was sure disappointed when I looked him up and realized it was a robin just looking around. Very odd! |

Mary, I really enjoy looking at your image. The lighting is lovely and it is very crisp. As I stared at it longer, I found that the clouds were competing for my attention. I wonder if cropping out some of the clouds so that the viewer is able to take a longer journey up and around the image might work. I tried cropping it a bit to show you what I mean. |

Randy, This is such a breathtaking image! My husband and I enjoy visiting Arizona and this is definitely on our list to see. I love just staring at your image as my eye just travels through it. I particularly find the luminosity to be quite effective. Nicely done!

Randy, Thanks. I love your captions. It has been a banner year around here for interesting bird poses. Perhaps in the past, I just didn't really take the time to notice! Throughout COVID birding has become such a favorite part of my day. |

Walt, Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, the square crop does seem to work nicely. I couldn't do much with the eye!

Adrian,
I really love the softness of the original image. In the first edited version I thought the rock and foliage in the water almost seemed fake, even though they were natural! My eye went right to them. I keep going back to the original, which is my favorite. I cropped it a bit from the top and took out the rock and water plant. What a beautiful site you visited! |

Walt, what a vibrant, pretty image! I particularly like the way the triangular shape of the flowers and leaves lead me to the large flower in the foreground. I agree with the suggestion to remove the bit of sunflower on the lower left. I like the texture in the black and white image, but I do prefer the color version. |

Isaac, I just love this image! The pose that you captured and the colors that you brought out make this such an appealing image. The only suggestion I have is to perhaps remove the little white spots on his left wing and the tiny one on the right wing bottom. |

Bruce, What a lovely image of such a happy bird! I love that you caught him with his mouth open while chirping. I agree with Isaac about the eye. By brightening it. up bit, it compliments the sunlight shining on his little foot. |

Thank you, Isaac. I have been enjoying taking some images of the various birds that stay in our area during the winter. |
