I really like this image of the Purple Gallinule. Your title made me giggle and tells a story. I like the action, composition and the colors you have captured. I agree with Kathy, every time I have tried to photograph these birds they are hidden in the grass. |

A beautiful image of this beautiful bird in action. With the contrasting colors of the bird and the berry's and the blurred background takes my eyes immediately to the subject. A great composition and I like Isaac's crop. |

Hi Jerry, It is so much fun photographing the Snowy's fish. You captured the perfect moment in this egrets fishing expedition. Lifting the shadows in the background makes this a perfect image. |

Great portrait of this hawk. I like Isaacs changes. I also thought it was a painting at first. |

Hi Gloria, I agree on Isaac and Kathy's comments. You can also try to remove the stick in front of the chicks beak. Great image! |

Judy, Lovely photo of this beautiful waterfalls. I like the milky waterfall and how crisp the image it through out. Did you use a tripod for this photo? Thanks for sharing! |

Hi Leslie, When I opened up the group photos, my eye immediately went to your photo. I couldn't wait to see it on big screen and I was not disappointed. The patterns on the leaf and the butterfly are so crisp. The colors are vibrant particularly the yellow on the butterfly. I keep going back at it to find familiar patterns on the leaf. Lovely peace of art! |

Hi John, With the aspens and the evergreens you have framed beautiful layers of colors in this photograph. I agree with Leslie and Sherry on brightening up the image a bit. Maybe you can increase the saturation on the yellows and the oranges. |

Hi Donald, Such a sharp photo of this white-lined sphinx moth. I agree with others on toning down the white flowers a little because my attention keeps going to them.
We see the Clear-winged hummingbird moths in our area. This year I spent a lot of time photographing them on the butterfly bushes in my garden and also when I visited the botanical gardens. They are a challenge for sure. |

Sherry, hope you made out okay after Milton. It is sad to see the destruction the last few storms have caused. |

Peter, I really like this image for its composition and story telling. I think the lioness is in sharp focus and the background blurred enough for the lioness to stand out but yet show its habitat. 10-12 ft is awfully close :) On my wish list of places to visit as well! |

Hi Sherry,
I like the sharp focus on the bird and the branch. The beautiful blue sky with some clouds makes for a really nice background. I agree with Leslie on the crop. Nice capture. |

Thanks John for your comments. It's interesting that I never saw these butterflies in the Bay Area for the brief period I lived there. I was there October through December in 2020 so is it because it's the dry season there are no flowers for them? |

Thank you Sherry for your comments. The wildflowers that the Pipevine Swallowtail is on are Closed bottle gentian (Gentiana andrewsii). Here is some info on them.
