15 Jun 24 Comment Welcome to the group Jerry. Great image of the female Red-winged Blackbird (RWB). I like the beautiful soft colors and blur in the background which contrasts really well with the subject that is in sharp focus. The subject is well placed in the frame. I like Kathy's version of the image as well but in my opinion the circles are not that distracting.

I was just visiting Boulder, CO and saw large flocks of female RWB's hanging out at the wetlands on Boulder Creek path. I see the RWB's in the wetlands in Georgia but I have never seen them in large flocks.

Looking forward to seeing more of your images in the future.

15 Jun 24 Reply Thank you Isaac. I was pretty thrilled to see the photos after coming home, since we were in the rough water and a moving boat. I captured a whole sequence of the bird getting the fish to the altercation. It was fascinating to see how so many frigatebirds were after the one with the fish. Jun 10th
15 Jun 24 Comment Pei-fan, Very nice image. You have captured the tender moment of this birds behaviour. I like that you are at eye level with the birds. Thank you for sharing!

15 Jun 24 Comment Isaac, Very appropriate title and a fabulous image of GBH behavior! I have seen birds preen each other but not this! On my computer I am seeing some noise maybe denoising will help this awesome image.

It is sad that wetland habitat is being destroyed by construction. We see this in all parts of the world.

15 Jun 24 Comment Jim, I think you have done a great job with your post processing. I do notice some places behind the green grass that were missed in the blur process.

Two summers ago we had two Rosette Spponbill's visit the wetlands near me in the Atlanta area . They were Juvenile Spoonbills, visiting us to avoid competition from adult Spoonbills. The two weeks we had them before they moved elsewhere a lot of photographers from far and near came to these wetlands, myself being one of them. These Juveniles were not as pink as the adult ones I had seen on the Georgia coast. There eyes were pale, not red as the breeding adults either.

15 Jun 24 Comment Kathy, I really like this image. I like the composition of the image, how the clouds and the tree are perfectly framing the egret. I also like the colors, particularly the red on the eye. Beautiful image of this beautiful bird! Jun 10th

94 Jun 24 Reply Thank you Sherry for your feedback. As per your suggestion I removed some of the branches on the body and the sac. The AI worked pretty well. I don't recall the "subtract" option a month ago, may be it is a new one because I did update LR a couple of days ago.
The black specs on the red sac clearly look like feathers to me. I only noticed them after coming home when I saw the photos on the big computer screen.

94 Jun 24 Reply Thank you for your comments Peter. We were there end of May 2024, just about a month ago. We went to North Seymore Island to see the Frigatebirds and Blue-footed Booby's nesting. They are impressive birds and I am so glad I got to see their unique behavior.
How often do you do trips to the Galapagos?

94 Jun 24 Comment Leslie, The white vignette worked better because the branches of the tree on which this bird was nesting are ash colored and my goal with the vignette was to remove distractions. In addition the white vignette in my opinion also helped the bird stand out more. Jun 10th
94 Jun 24 Comment Sherry, Wow! The feather details, incredible light and great composition make this a beauty. Can't wait to see the one on entry! Jun 10th
94 Jun 24 Comment Lucky indeed. I think you have captured all the textures and details in the rhino really well. I like the image as is. Nicely done. Jun 10th
94 Jun 24 Comment Donald, I agree with Leslies comments.
I have never seen an adult Indigo bunting. The Juvenile that I have seen have always moved away before I even had a chance to focus on the bird.

94 Jun 24 Comment Leslie,
Lovely image. I love the composition and the details in the image. I appreciate this image even more considering that this ice plant is a ground cover and you have the ceraunus blue standing out from the background.
