Hi Isaac,
Nice image. The Flamingo's usually are in large groups and it is hard to get the separation between birds to make a decent photo, but you have done an excellent job with it. What do you think if there was a little more room on the left?
I have seen the young Lesser Flamingos in the Mumbai mudflats in India. They usually migrate here in the winter from the saline waters of western state of Gujarat . The numbers in migrant Flamingos have increased significantly over the past two decades due to increase in amount of algae in the mudflats because of sewage and construction debris dump. But scientists think if the rate at which this dump is happening the fragile ecosystem is going to soon reach a tipping point and could be a threat for the Flamingos. |

Mike, Interesting to see these colorful ducks on a tree. I do like Isaac's crop so that the duck is prevalent. We do not see these ducks in our area, although during one of my visits to the Florida coast I had the opportunity to see them. |

Thank you for your comments. I took several photos of this heron in action, from piercing the fish to until it had completely gobbled up the fish. I those this photo in particular because I really liked the water dripping from the fish. I do wish the heron had not turned its head away as it was rinsing the fish. I passed it through Topaz Denoise and darkened the background a little. What do you think? |

Hi John, Thank you for sharing this wonderful landscape of California. You had a clear day with great visibility to see the snow mountain in the distance. I notice some dust spots in the sky or is it just me? |

Right place at right time catching the little one in action. I agree with others suggestions. My eye first went to the grassy rocks and then to the bear. I think cropping these rocks so they act as anchor to the photo would improve the photo. |

I was immediately attracted to this photograph by the colorful flower, then I saw the insect. It is amazing how much detail you retained with such heavy crop. I was thinking the same thing as Judy and Leslie when I saw the photo, a macro shot of the eye would have been interesting. |

Love it! Great details and action in the photo. The heron is definitely walking with an intent. I agree with Leslie, a little bit room for it walk into the frame will even be better.
The Green Herons have arrived in our area for the summer. They are usually skittish so I never see them up close. |
