Thanks. As a kid I had been to the Taj several times since we lived only two hours from the monument. A lot has changed since then. It was never as crowded as it is now and this time with my camera in hand I was looking at the Taj with a different view. |

Thanks Bev. If you decide to make trip end of February is a good time to go. It is the end of winter so it is much cooler and it is not as foggy as it is December through mid February. |

Thank you! Jet lag made it easy to be there early in the morning. But as you can tell from all the people around that everyone had the same idea. I would definitely recommend going in the morning as the crowds as less, its cooler and the light is beautiful! |

When I first looked at the photoI I thought it was a watercolor painting with a little mysteriousness to the scene. I like the composition with the archway giving a nice entry way to the interesting courtyard and a little peek at the doors to the left. |

I might be repeating everyones sentiments here. I really like the rich colors and the sharpness of the subject. The composition, the different textures and shapes in the photo make this photo really special. Well done! |

I like the photo. The yellow and the red colors on the building immediately draws my attention to the photo. Effective use of light and post processing. |

Beautiful image of the Swan. I like the nice details on the feathers and the catchlight in the eye. I also like the swans pose and the composition of the image. Very nice! |

I like the photo. The rocks acting as the leading line takes me through the image and I want to know what's beyond the narrow passage. With the right exposure the colors pattern in the landscape are enhanced beautifully. Awesome! |

Please see my response to eye color to Judy.
Of all the photos I took I liked this one because of the interaction of the two juvenile Spoonbills. It was really difficult to get a photo of these birds without the juvenile Little Blue Heron in the frame -:). The riverwalk was full of excitement for the two weeks the Spoonbills visited. Many photographers drove long distances to see these magnificent birds. I was super excited when I saw them at the wetlands just a few minutes drive from my house. Hopefully we will have them back next year. |

I tried to find out if the color of eyes of Roseate spoonbills change as they age. One report (link 1) I found was the eyes are paler when they are born and get darker as they age. In this report they sited a book by Allen R P 1942, p142 which I was unable to get access to. Birds.com (link 2) says that juvenile spoonbills have yellow eyes. All the posted photos of these Spoonbills taken by other photographers showed darker eyes.

Great Shot captured at the right moment! I would add to Leslie's comment White bird in motion with a fish an awesome capture! I have found Topaz Denoise causing "edge effect". Maybe the clipping of the wings is due to over compensation, try manually adjusting the Denoise sliders. Nevertheless I really like the shot. |

We have another butterfly photography expert in our group now :) Beautiful image. I think the contrasting colors of the monarch and the flowers make this image a winner. I love the composition, the sharpness of both the flowers and the butterfly. |

Hi Sherry, The end result is quite majestic. I was immediately drawn to your photo when I opened the page. My attention immediately went to the Tern's orange beak and then its huge wing span and the vastness of the moon. I love the glow of moonlight coming through the tail feathers and the bottom edge of the Tern's wings. Gorgeous!
At what magnification were the photos taken? Did you use a tripod? |
