Thank you for the kind comments.Dorinda, it is tilted,I purposely tilted it.
I entered it in my camera club March competition and it did well. However,I prefer the honest non- competitive critiques we do here |

I opened the image in LR and used basic. Next I opened it in PSCC I selected the bird loosely (and quickly) with the lasso tool Then I chose Edit>Free Transform and enlarged the bird a bit The background around the bird looked different from the new area of background sky so I blended a bit with the healing brush tool Probably a more accurate selection would have meant less need for blending |

Beautiful orchids lovely and sharp By bringing the image into LR Viveza and PS I was able to tone down the brightness and keep your idea of a cascade I then went back to LR and added a slight vignette see attached |

I like the composition with the sharp silhouette and the Mackerel sky clouds. I agree with Robert that the vulture seems small It could be enlarged with the magic of PS see attached |

A nice sharp capture of an interesting subject I think increasing contrast helped
However, I have been told that if it is not about color try mono so I did I also turned the image flipped it horizontal and clipped the pipe see attached. |

Definitely a very sharp shot with beautiful colors I find the green and purple ? leaf on the left somewhat distracting I think a closer crop and some patch tool or clone would work (see attached)
The image seemed a little too bright and somewhat flat so I took it into LR and PS and worked on it. See attached I think if it was natural light it may have been too bright on another trial a translucent reflector might help smooth the light and bring back the texture. I also like close up and macro images and have been thinking about buying the Sony FE 90 mm macro lens (a full frame lens for my Sony a 6000) In researching it I found a video this week: How Chris Niccolls Shoots Macro Photography a youtube video from
TheCameraStoreTV He mentions using the translucent reflector,a macro rail and a tripod that can go very flat. I have also experimented with close up lenses and extension tubes in the past. I also was told that my old Canon g12 prosumer point and shoot camera in macro mode is used for close up work even by people who have the D250 and D500 thus I am trying it again. I also am going to make myself a beanbag so I can put my camera down low. The problem is getting me down low and then up again! I have also found my iPhone 6 plus takes beautiful closeups of flowers.

Beautiful sharp image of the sunset and castle. Even though it was not your intent, the degree of saturation of the reds and purples in the sunset does make the image look like the fairy tale castle in Disney World. I like how the man in the red shirt repeats the red of the sunset I like the composition. |
