Muchas gracias.
As Helen pointed out there is a bit of noise in the ray flowers which I think is spill over from sharpening the disc flowers.
The Selective Colour adjustment sliders do affect colours, but in addition there are controls for white, neutral, and blacks. A touch of those can punch up an image quite a bit, give it a try. |

The faux colours are lovely.
But all these vertical elements: tree, rocker back, fences, posts, walls, door and roofs just bowl me over!
This is an image that demands the viewer LOOK AT ME!
How would it be in monochrome?

What a tranquil scene. Makes one want to spend the day sitting there watching the clouds drift by.
I would suggest cloning out the out of focus shadow in the right foreground and then apply a bit of vignette along the bottom to concentrate interest on the gazebo and clouds. |

This is another great structure image. All those stones just jump out at me!
But those very interesting stone walls lead the eye to a rather uninteresting gate, which stops the image exploration. So my only suggestion would be to clone out that gate with some of the hill detail. |

What a lovely spot, nice find!
I like the colour version, the red wood tones are so warm and inviting.
I tend to the monochrome as the structures come through stronger. The leaves look painterly in both versions.
Candidate for DAP?
Very Nice. |

the yellow line is an artifact from one of thew multiple layers that I failed to notice before I posted this.

Thank you for your kind comments on the Journal image. The administrator of the infrared group (#35), to which I also post, had apparently come to this group and looked at my paintings when she asked me submit an image for the Journal. She also set-up a webinar with her home camera club for me to talk my process through for them.
With regard to this girl's image I think the smooth skin makes those big dark eyes just pop.

I like the effect you used on this image, it does look painterly. I like that you shot it a slight angle which gives view of the openings in the foyer which give that area much more interest than a flat view.
I think the sign on the right detracts from the central area of interest. You might try Cloning that out an see how it looks. I would also suggest cropping the right and left edges to focus interest on the center. In fact a tight crop with just a remaining edge of the bracketing tree on the left and maybe removing half the tree on right would really bring out the neat details like the arch and gate.

One thing about painting images is you can, sometimes, rescue an image and make it lovely, like you did here.
I would suggest you might apply some texture to the foreground elements, to separate them a bit more from the soft background elements. |
