35 Dec 20 Comment This makes me think of a group of Asians climbing
a mountain side with clouds in the distance.

35 Dec 20 Reply Oh I know what you mean!
My desktop computer is in its death throes with recurrent Blue Screen Of Death shutdowns.
I had planned to build another machine next spring but it looks like I need to move up my timetable.
Maybe Santa will be good to me :)

35 Dec 20 Reply I'll take a look at a square format but my thought was the curvilinear line of the 'shrooms suggested a slightly vertical format. Dec 14th
35 Dec 20 Reply I was referring to the cloud reflection in the water.

35 Dec 20 Reply Oh, just having fun with you! I don't think there are many 12th century churches in Virginia!
You do get to some lovely sites in England, I am always jealous. I keep looking at workshops in Scotland but lose interest when they mention climbing up the side of a mountain, or two, to get the shots they advertise.
I was unable to do a 2 week workshop in the mountains of Northwest Vietnam in August. Hope it goes next year.

35 Dec 20 Comment Your tonality is lovely. The house is crisp but the overall sense is dreamy. Very nice.
I would suggest cropping the right side, in to about the brick pillar. The stuff over there does not add much to the image and that way the viewers focus is directed more to the house. See what you think.

35 Dec 20 Comment Yes, the sepia gives it a real old feeling. I like the grey fades into the distance.
In order to focus more on the central part of this I might crop the left edge a smidge, to remove the edge of the stones, and the right edge to remove the stacked stones. See what you think.

35 Dec 20 Comment The clouds are blown out which is inconsistent with the low key nature of the rest of the image (which I really like.) Unfortunately there is no detail in the original clouds so looks like you need to make another trip to Loveland.

35 Dec 20 Comment I assume you mean England and not Norfolk, Virgina :)
I like this a lot.
Have you used the Transform tool to correct perspective? I don't think you would need much to pull that tower more forward and not lose your edges.
There is a tonal difference between the walls of the building on the left and the one on the right. A quick Curves adjustment would even that out.
If this was mine I would use Nik to increase the structure of the clouds, make them a bit more dramatic. I think that would be consistent with a cemetery.

35 Dec 20 Comment Classic IR image!
With regard to Gary's suggestion about increasing the contrast in the bushes, I would try increasing the structure first. It might make them separate a bit.
The cloud reflection in the foreground is pretty soft. It looks like Nik took from the Original 3, while the Original 1 cloud has a bit more detail. You could try to cut and paste a copy and use an adjustment mask to match tones.

35 Dec 20 Comment Yeah, it was simpler to just crop to these four.
The lighting was pretty flat, being under a dense forest canopy, so I thought the image needed quite a bit of structure and contrast.

56 Dec 20 Reply Thanks Gerard,
The Dynamic Auto Painter App is really powerful and has lots ways to modify an image to make it look more painterly. It is also fairly inexpensive, around $100 USD. If you like working with Corel then first passing an image through DAP gives a good place to start and then do the details with Corel.

56 Dec 20 Reply Thanks Cindy,
Here it looks a little brighter than what I have on my machine, where it is a little more moody. Oh well.
When I first shot this I didn't care for the crow, but then realized that it is the focus! Duh.

56 Dec 20 Comment This is sumptuous!
I would suggest continuing the oolours around to the petal on the right. It just seems a little pale compared to the rest of the beautiful petals.
