There are ways to get birds to perch in more natural settings. Some people put out logs or stumps with seeds in holes. This often brings nuthatches to the stump. It also helps to have a blind of some sort. I used to put cardboard in an open window with a hole in it that the camera lens fit into. I did this in the winter with snow as a background. |

What a great and unusual nature shot. I would like to see less light in the background, but sometimes you have to go with what is there. I am sure this took a lot of patience.

The tree seems to be the main subject. I did not notice the ducks until I looked closely. The fog crops out a lot of unwanted distractions. zooming in on the lower branch over the water and waiting for the ducks to swim under it might be a nice shot of the ducks.

Lovely southern shot. I get a very relaxed feeling from this shot.

What is "bokeh"? I agree about removing the leaf. Nice colors. |
