Very nice capture of the Milky Way Larry. I love the concept of the tree in the foreground to provide depth. I like how you captured the tree with light painting as well, although it does appear a little more washed out taking away from the real light show from the Milky Way. I do like how the clouds added some additional relection and filtering. Always hard to capture the sky when there are clouds.
Hopefully you didn't too wet with the tide. |

Stellar capture of this hawk eating lunch. Powerful story behind it as well. Clear, sharp and beautiful detail of the bird.
I can tell a subtleness between the original and your posted image. Your original generates more detail in the feathers, and some variation is sharpness between the legs/talons within either. A slight contrast, highlight change in the branch and a little darkening of yellow on the legs may have been all you needed.
Regardless Richard, this is a beautiful capture. |

Richard, What a magnificient capture of the owl chicks. Beautiful composition and lighting. I do like the dark ferns in the foreground with the soft/bokah background. Makes the owls stand out perfect. I feel they are sharp and are truly the center of the image. |

Michael, Thank you for those insights. I did struggle a bit with post-production. Lot's of shadowing from the trees and there was a dead tree to the right of him. I will go back and play a little more with contrast and clarity as well.

David, Thank you for your feedback. It was definitely a challenge to capture, especially as there were other people on the trail and I did not want him spooked. |

Beautiful capture of this snowy owl in flight. I love birds in flight mad owls tend to be the best.
Your composition is spot on and I definitely like the enhancement from the original. It is vey grainy and in your revised version this becomes less. High ISO and low light can be the culprit for this.
Beautiful image. |

I was able to count 14 points on him. He had been grazing on the trail and then decided to lay down. I have a profile shot and will look at that this to further detail the count.
Background separation was difficult since he was lying close to the rock and trees. I also tried to mask the people behind the trees as best I could. This was right at an outcropping on the trail.
Here is the profile. This shows 14 points. |
