Mark, Adding the blue tones does offer a "colder" feeling to the image for sure. I do like this version as well. I had played with it in LR under the presets and I think I had gotten it too blue, so never thought of posting it then. |

I feel that I have seen this someplace before ;)..
The motion stop is clear and a spectacular capture. The story is there with the vegetation in the birds mouth. The motion blur of the water and crispness of bird are beautifully contrasted.
The color of the top of the wings is such a beautifu blue and the lines between wing tips is tact sharp. Just a slight hint of reflections in the water and the bokah effect bring this bird to life while in flight. My hat tipped to you Master! |

A stern talking too! Great capture of these two pups and the mom. In looking at the original and the cropped version, I think it is difficult to capture the essence of the scene without some cropping, to everyone's discussion. The tighter crop brings in the faces of the sea lions, which is likely what you were going for and everything elese is "whitewash" so-to-speak.
The story I see here is that the mom is "barking" at the pup on the right while the one on the left is puffing out it's chest, saying "see, I told ya"... |

I so love this shot Richard. Magnificently captured expression. I think your re-work with cropping, light, color, really enhances the over all capture very well. There was a lot of "noise" in the original and with your crop, you were able to remove that (branches and trees in the background). This, I feel enhances the Bokah effect extremely well allow all the focus on the owl. Magnificent capture. |

Thanks Larry. This is why I struggled with the image. I would have liked to have had the full body of the bison in the top right and could have moved to the left a little more. I was shooting with a kit lens, Canon 75-300 mm, plus add the snow, it was difficult to capture any specific eyes. |

Great image Jason. I believe the cropping is tight and brings in the closeness of the baby and mom. Nice utilization of the moment to capture such intiment details. Nice colors, light and DOF as well. |

I agree with the darkening of the image. The grass is grass and not a huge distraction. Besides, it's not like you can ask the snake to hold still and pose while you arrange the environment :).
Much more detail in the eyes and I think this POV with the mouth closed a bit more add a little dramatic effect. Nicely done. |

Holy cow! Thank goodness for telephoto lenses. Stunningly sharp capture of the mouth. I will gladly stay far enough away from these as well. Have never seen one, but have see prairie rattlers out here in CO.
Your crop on this is clean and the light is good. I viewed the updated version with the darkened grass and like that better. There was a little too much highlight on the blade to the right of the snake. |
