The black spot caught my eye-- would I remove it? The answer is after Stephen put the "golden rectangles" on the photo, the answer is no, I would not remove itI would not remove the shadows either.
Good for you in trying something different and fascinating!

I really love all the discussion about the intricacies of your photo.
I really appreciate all the work that you did to achieve the look that you wanted.
I have only one question - I see two spots - one pink spot on one petal and another "grey" spot on the other petal. The pink spot is a toss up for me but the other spot I would remove. Now if it was a water drop I would keep that and remove the pink spot. The stem, I have to come back and look at it again. It definitely caught my eye in both the color and black and white. I am leaning to have it one color. |

Welcome again Asbjorn,
Your picture reminds me that Norway is a destination that is on our list to visit. I love the reflection that you captured. My eyes initially went from the four white and one grey building up the right of middle side to the top of the snow laden hill. Then starting again at the bottom of the picture I focused on the left side very interesting.

My emphasis on flowers comes about because it is the time of year when flowers and trees are in bloom and the wonderful memories I have of growing up with a rose garden in my back yard because my mother loved roses. I also had two wonderful relatives named "Rose"!
Truth be told I did not notice the upper right hand corner the way it was until after I submitted it and when I saw it I couldn't believe I didn't see it. I thought of asking about resubmitting but I decided to leave it ...

Thanks Stephen for your suggestions.
I used to use Adobe Photoshop Elements and really liked it but, Lightroom came out and I switched to Lightroom and haven't looked back. I am finding that I need to brush up and expand my use of Photoshop learning the areas like masking which Lightroom is only at the very beginning stages of developing. I also am going to take advantage of Tim Grey's Learning Series of Black and White that starts this week for the month of June.
