Personally, I would leave the background as is. You captured the essence of the bird. He/She looks like he has a point that he is trying to make, almost shouting. I feel it is different than what I've seen in these type of photos. I love it! |

Lynne,
I will have to try that on another photo that I submit.

Tom -For some reason I don't see the comments that I sent about a week ago. I agree with Stephen. I really like the clouds but I believe if they were darker it would give more emphasis to the bell tower. I also wonder about the structure behind the bell tower i.e. whether you could eliminate it because, while it is beautiful, I think it takes away from the bell tower as do the fixtures on the corners of the building. I am a real lover of cactus and I would love to see you do a black and white of the wall and the cactus and wild flowers and the bushes without the bell tower and the building... I can tell from your beginning photograph that it was a beautiful and visually interesting spot. |

I agree with Stephen. He looks like a real character -- I would try and darken his hat, beard and pants. His shoe laces fit in perfectly. |

Diana -- I did not view this picture before I replied to your email about my photo. Wow -- what a dramatic difference between the two photographs -- love it! |

Last night we were caught in a storm while eating dinner outside-- It would have been a perfect picture, but to tell you the truth, I did not have my camera with me and even if I had I would not have used it -- it was so dangerous that we were lucky we didn't have plates, glasses and umbrellas hitting us... one young woman was as lucky but, while she did get hit with something over her eye she escaped without catastrophic damage. |

I loved the info you provided in the "About the Image" but especially liked the "self-criticism". You have a real ability to identify the plusses (May be misspelled) and minuses... I find the black and white version much more pleasing to the eye and helped me to focus more quickly on the model. I agree about the sunglasses. Very interested about the iphone-- what make and model? |
