This a wonderful image and I agree that the light grabs my attention, but after looking at it for a while it seems just a little too big and bright. David's image is great, but I prefer Jerry's darker, more moody version. Cropping the bottom changes the emphasis and balance, but I would only crop a small amount.

This is a very emotional image. The main elements are the lady, the dog, and the hands of the vet. If you cropped the left edge of the image and came in tighter on the 3 elements I think it would have even more impact. And I would like to see their eyes.
The vet appears to have dermatitis, probably from contact with some irritant, making her hands rough and red. It looks strange in black and white, the roughness looks flat. |

A very nice image that tells a story. The rain and the flat light add a feeling of fatigue or dread. There is a small white triangle at the edge of the wall on the tank that I find distracting. And the tank seems larger than the men - more so than I expect - maybe it's closer, but I feel like it is intruding on what I want to look at - the group of soldiers.
Overall it's a great image! |
