When I look at this image I feel lonely, a little sad - it sure does cause an emotional response. The light in the sky is wonderful, as is the light on the front of the building. Everything is sharp and the tones are good. Well done!

Thanks. I was using my new 14-24mm lens and I liked the wide perspective.

Sorry... I'll try again, this image shrinks down on my MacBook using "command-"
Any suggestions on how to get the original in the correct format? |

I agree with Jerry about the edges. The contrast is low and the horizontal lines on the left wall and street are not as strong as in the original image.
I downloaded your original file, cropped it and using Silver Efex Pro 2 I converted it to B&W, added preset #36, and then added lens falloff 1 in the vignette option and finally burned the bottom edge by 10%. Yours is sharper, but what do you think about the edges?
I really like your image. It is a great composition of a common scene, |

The composition is great and the light and tonality are wonderful. The image makes me want to see more of the surrounding land; a wider view? |

I prefer the horizontal view - with smoke. The vertical has a lot of empty space in the right lower quadrant. The exposure and contrast on the left (- wheel) is very different than that on the right (- trees). Would this be helped if shot as an HDR image? |

This is a great composition, showing both ruins and the wall above. It's interesting how this view flattens the outward curve of the wall. The contrast and tonality are excellent. I have photographed this site many times, but I never saw it this way. Thanks for sharing! |
