I am a beginner and not sure about metering for light, but I really like the darker background and would tone down some of the hotter spots in the back to make Jack stand out even more. I do not think the setting is important to this shot, but I really like the light from the phone shining up and the highlights on his hair. Some of the blue phone light is a little harsh in spots, but a nice capture of his focus. |

I really like the fragile colorful flowers against the stark rugged mountains. Those conditions are hard, breeze, stormy, but you did capture a good sense of the weather and surroundings. |

Love the effect of the stems in the vase. I would try to blur or blacken the background to really see it as a still life/portrait. I love the blue in the background, but find the trees distracting when you have such an interesting effect with the stems in the water and vase. '
Love the idea and colors. |

I really like the starkness and contrast. Not only is the orange cloth so beautiful in the contrast, but the man's expression and white on his skin makes this powerful. |

As above the cropping and light are very good. I don't mind his face being a little soft since I think the focus and subject is the action for me. You did catch a good facial expression, so I see this more as a decisive moment vs a portrait. Very nice. |
