I prefer the wider one. |

Hi Mitch, what a great capture and probably the best crop you could get from this image, and I think the colour version works better than mono because it feels more natural, however I would dial down the green highlights that pull me away from the Owls.
The image is quite noisy so try something like Topaz denoise before other processing, apart from that Brenda seems to have comprehensively reviewed it.

Hi Jason, another lovely building which to me works better in colour than in mono. I would be tempted to darken down the building in the background under the arch as it almost merges with the lovely lit building.
What are you trying to say with this image, or is it just a record of what was there? For me it needs something else, maybe some graffiti on the plain right hand wall and crop off more of the left, or maybe a 'down and out' figure walking past.

An interesting image with lovely leading lines that take us to the centre of the image, where there is a piece of red to welcome us.
Welcome to the world of cloning, I've spent many many hours with the clone tool, and survived! In this case the casing you are trying to fix is already ugly, so have you thought about copy and flip the right side to make up a new stall (use masks to pick and choose which bits to keep so as not to make it obvious)?
As you become more proficient you may want to remove the 'shopping trolleys' sign and 'Hand tools' sign as they do draw the eye away from the centre.
I also thought that the background was a bit too sharp so the eyes wanted to go and look there too, so added a quick Gaussian blur on the towers.
Have fun with this one.

A fabulous building and your conversion to mono makes it have lots of atmosphere, and there is scope to make it even more stark and scary, it reminds me of vampire movies.
Helen's change works well, but as you don't like to change the reality of the scene I have to disagree with Brenda, the buildings to the right of the church detract from the 'old' feel to the image.
Although a fantastic tree it does seem to be too far from the building compositionally, and without moving the tree I don't know how to overcome this unless you crop off some of the building to make the tree a greater element within the image.

A lovely image well seen, and captured, including getting the log's reflection in the water. The work you've done really enhances the image but I have to agree with Brenda that the log is a bit bright.

Super image, makes one want to go there. The straightening was essential and well done, but I would have included the full bottom left dome and the full tree. As for the roofs they still look natural and better for being cleaner.
I love the concept of adding the suns rays from the top left, but these look false because they just stop, can you extend them over the buildings, and maybe reduce the opacity?
You need to read the specific salon rules to see if they allow adjustments as some do allow changes, such as the roof fix, but the rays are probably a no-no.

Thanks Brenda for spotting the bright areas on the edges, but that's what comes from rushing so they've been darkened down now. |
