Thanks for all the comments, but like last month's bus I will revisit but there doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day :)

Another interesting crop, but no longer a travel image as the donkey has been removed, but still a great image for open competition.
I wonder if the child is no longer the main feature of this image as opposed to the tree and scene in general?

Hi Mitch, lovely to see a rare flower such as this, but you could have pretended to go up the mountain to capture such a rare bloom :)
Interesting that you chose to shoot across the head to show off the Stamen rather that the conventional shot from the front, but this works very well.
I personally prefer the format of the original image that shows more of the petals and those gorgeous veins running through them, as this also gives a bit more context to these stamen.
I dropped this image into the RAW converter and added a bit of Dehaze, then a bit of sharpening using the High Pass Filter as your Stamen feel a bit soft.

Hi Jason, super location and the foreground with that tree between the buildings was well spotted. You've brought up the exposure on the foreground and I feel there is still room for a bit more saturation on the grasses bottom right.
Catching those sun rays is a real challenge, and the filter you have now used seems to add a purple tint to the clouds, so I tried more contrast and a bit of desaturation to bring them out more.

For someone new this is a fantastic shot, and the decision to be in/on the lake was absolutely spot on. Taking several shots to bracket the exposure would have been very hard in a canoe, as are most things involving canoes, but well worth it.
I love the whispery cloud in the sky and the perfect positioning of the monks, again for someone new (or experienced) this was extremely well thought out. I do find the guys on the right don't add to the story so a crop to leave just the monks feels stronger.

Hi Sunil, having read your comments I can see what you were trying to achieve, but without the notes it asks a lot of questions on its own.
I do find the left hand building with all the lights on a distraction from the subject so cropped that building off. this left the figure looking out of the frame, but since he has been stabbed it could be said he was trying to get away.
I know you don't want to add items to your pictures but I feel the sky could do with something else, a moon or a cloud, to break up the nothingness.

Lovely image Jim, well exposed and by capturing the car moving on the right just gives it a bit of life.
There are good leading lines from the fence and kerb taking us into the image, but we then bump into the A-board on the pavement so I suggest removing it, allowing free movement all the way into the image.
I also feel the dark sky line bottom is perfectly in line with the building on the right which makes me feel something isn't quite right, so I softened the edge a bit.

I think this is an excellent image, and don't think I'd change anything except to crop it smaller to make the child more of the subject, and with this suggestion the child is slightly off centre but walking into the middle.
In my opinion this will also make an excellent travel image for competition, you haven't cloned out or added anything so the scene is as it was, and the adjustments you've made are within the permitted parameters.
